This hotel is convenient to being off the New Jersey Turnpike.
I was in town to see the Mets play the Phillies - which is a 20 minute ride to the hotel (Mets won!)
It was clean and neat - the bed was very comfortable but the pillows sucked.
The fire alarm went off at 3am in the morning and I ran outside - only to wait 45 minutes for the fire department to come and shut it off.
Of course this kind of thing happens, but it would have been nice if the hotel had put a sign on the door apologizing for the inconvenience or the desk attendent say something.
I would stay again for a night if I was going to a game again - it was cheap - $60 better than Philly hotel prices for sure.
It was supposed to have free continental breakfast - I checked out at 8:30am NOTHING - no even coffee was put out.

I booked for a three night stay at this property using Hotwire. I took note of the mediocre Tripadvisor reviews with some chagrin, but looked forward to the business center, complimentary breakfast and convenient location.

On arrival at the nominal 2 1/2 star Extended Stay Deluxe Mount Laurel, I was informed that the hotel was overbooked and was handed directions to the Extended Stay America in Cherry Hill. There was no warning or email in advance. Fortunately, I was driving a car on this visit and was not relying on the nearby Mount Laurel bus station or a taxi.

On arrival at the nominal 2 star Extended Stay America in Cherry Hill, I found no business center, no complimentary breakfast, and a four mile extra drive (roundtrip) to my local destination. The room at the Extended Stay Cherry Hill had some problems.
Bad news: There was a faintly sour smell in the bathroom. The desk light and twin lights by the bed did not appear to be working. I raised this with the front desk, noting that it was too dark to use the desk or to read in the bed without lights. The front desk warned that maintenance personnel were not on duty, but offered to send up housekeeping to check out the lights. The lights were not fixed during my three day stay.
Good news: The bedding, towels, kitchen utensils and dishes, and bath were reasonably clean. The carpet was pretty new. The room may have been partially renovated recently. The room was equipped with microwave, fridge, ironing board and iron, tube TV, pots and pans, dishes, desk chair, desk, easy chair and table. Free internet worked. Front desk staff members were good, handing out fresh towels and taking care of business with good cheer and reasonable efficiency.

Hints on Use: If you decide to book at Extended Stay, then bring your own……
(1) Tea and extra coffee -- Only one sachet of coffee is provided and it is not replaced.
(2) Shampoo and conditioner -- No toiletries apart from low quality soap bars provided.
(3) Plastic baggie for handling the TV remote – Don’t ask why. . .

Bottom Line:

This was not a satisfactory experience. I do not know if the overbooking was the fault of Hotwire or Extended Stay. I do know that this was a prepay. Had I tried to cancel my reservation, before or after reassignment, I would have received no refund. Some organization accepted a non-refundable payment for a room, sold that room to someone else and then substituted a property at a lower star level that lacked services that I valued.

My one star rating is based on the assumption that Extended Stay management bears some responsibility for selling a room twice and for understaffing maintenance.

As the saying goes, your mileage may vary.

Had there not been an overbooking, I would have rated the Cherry Hill property with two stars.

Had there not been an overbooking and if the lights were working, I would have rated the Cherry Hill property with three stars.

After trying to check into the Comfort Suites around the corner and them not willing to upgrade my room even though I have stayed in a Choice Hotels property more than 70 times this year, I chose to go elsewhere.

Well this property was close so I stopped here, I was given a good rate and decided to stay. Once I agreed to stay, then the "issues" came out...

Internet, NOT INCLUDED, business center, NOT INCLUDED, and so on... My room #218, stunk to high heaven of what I think was about 50 gallons of air freshener. I know this is more of a long term property and the people staying here forget that, but the acoustics do not understand.

If you want something neutral, something comfortable, might want to go elsewhere, but if you are going to be here for a long time.. maybe this is ok for you..

The only good thing about this "hotel" was the desk clerk who checked me in. He was very courteous.

This is the WORST place I ever stayed in . When I first arrived I noticed young people simply hanging out as if they were on a street corner. As a matter of fact, many of the hotel guests looked like marginally homeless people or welfare recipients.

The hallways and rooms are out dated. The outside looks modern but the room furniture had questionable stains. The head board had scratches.The TV remote did not work. The A/C fan was permanently on and off although I pressed the button for it to run continuously.
The stairwell was dirty and covered in human hair on a few steps.
Like someone else did on here, I started to leave and get a refund but decided to tough it out.

Now, the most annoying part was NOISE. There were noises that sound like slamming doors. The people above me must have had lots of kids because it sounded like they were stomping on the floor.

Even though I had the fan blowing(when it wanted to), TV turned up ( wouldn't go up much) AND earplugs, I was still bothered by stomping and slamming.

After I finally got to sleep I went to check out at 6am but, no....the office didn't open until 7am.

Never again.
