“Great Resource and Worth The Trip!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

Great for kids. Interesting place to tour and learn about the variety of raptors in NJ. There is a guided tour of the birds they have helped that have not been releases and stories about the ones that have been released. Pick a day that is not too humid to be outdoors. There is a schedule to follow to be driven up or walk up to the sanctuary.

“Special place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

Everyone should visit this nationally renown Raptor Sanctuary. Originally I was referred to the Raptor Trust because my shingle shake house had become one woodpeckers domain! No one knew what to do to stop this fellow from rap tapping my house. Eventually a roofer referred me to the Raptor Trust. Unbelievably, they knew exactly what to do and provided an article to back up their advice. Their recommendation worked (apparently woodpeckers are very difficult to get rid of). The trust is knowledgeable of all birds...not just raptors.

Visiting the Trust has taught me about the fragile nature of raptors. Children would love to visit for they are able to see different birds as well as raptor. Viewing the bald eagle was amazing. One just never sees these birds easily so the experience is unique. The owls and falcons are amazing.
The only raptors they have are those that cannot be retuned to the wild because their injuries were too severe to recover from. This is a wonderful sanctuary worth a visit and if not able to visit it certainly is worth a donation.
