My husband is a brew enthusiast. A few times a year he gets together with his buddies and brews beer in our garage. He attends festivals all over the state. He just plan enjoys craft beer. So for his 31st birthday, I wanted to make it special. I had searched for a craft beer bar and this was one of the ones I came up with. I’ll admit, I was a bit hesitant. Many beer drinkers complained about prices, service, and food. But I thought I would give it a chance.
I had called 3 days prior to his birthday dinner to make reservation for 12. The woman that I spoke to was more than accommodating and extremely friendly. When we arrived that night I needed to add 3 more people and once again the hostess was lovely. She slid a table right over, no hesitations.
The beer list is overwhelming to say the least. Two FULL pages, over 100 brews on tap. We never even looked at the bottle list. Now, I am not a beer drinker. But I did not to feel left out. So I tried 2 beers: Corsendonk Apple White and Fruli. Both delicious. But especially the Fruli. Best beer I have ever had.
We went the day before Cinco De Mayo, so the specials were all Mexican themed. We started out with a variety of appetizers, but being on Weight Watchers, I only ate this shrimp appetizer. It was served in a martini glass with about 10 shrimp covered in cerviche and topped with guacamole. Unbelievable. For dinner I had their homemade Black Bean Veggie Burger on brioche with a salad instead of fries. I cannot even describe how delicious this burger was. No dessert. The beer was enough.
The service was impeccable. As soon as he would leave with a drink order, he would be back again taking another drink order. I cannot imagine how many times he ran back and forth, but he did it with a smile. I wish I remembered his name. He was awesome.
Are the beer prices high? I guess you could say that. Most ranged from $6-11 for the craft beers. BUT, the food prices were very low. My appetizer was $10 and my burger was $8. I can appreciate the fact that they keep food delicious while keeping costs down. With not spending a lot on food, it opens the doors to spending a lot on beer. I think it balances out.
If you are a craft beer lover, this is the place for you. My husband and his friends had the greatest time. It was well worth the drive and the money we spent. The place is clean with an incredible ambiance. The food was tremendous, service was great. Overall, a wonderful experience. We will be back again!
