My husband and I visited Fleming's restaurant in Marlton on Saturday, October 27, 2012 at about 6pm. We didn't have a reservation but were seated immediately. Our waitress, Marianne, was extremely and wonderfully attentive. The last time we visited this restaurant we had had the wonderful experience of a lovely cabernet - Laurel Glenn 2004. Unfortunately, this time they were out. However, the wine manager came over and introduced us to a delicious cabernet Bell 2004 that was simply marvelous with our meal.
Of course, they immediately brought out a platter with their delicious, hot parmesan encrusted sour dough bread. I could make a meal of the bread and be done, but no... there's more...
Since we often try to build on our previous experiences, we again sought the same delicious steak we had tried on our first visit to Flemming's a couple of months back. It was a bone-in fillet mignon. OMG! They still had this available by request only! Yey! This time, though, they made it even better. I got my steak medium rare and it was done perfectly or even better than perfectly. The outside of it had crushed black peppercorns - blackened to perfection.I had asked for a side of pepper sauce, but guess what? I didn't need the sauce. It was mouthwatering and delicious without anything added.
My husband ordered a lobster tail to go along with everything. I don't know why he does this, but OMG this lobster tail was incredibly delicious! Marianne came over and professionally cut the lobster from its shell. The dipping butter was in a ceramic dish held above a lit votive on the table. I found myself cutting up the lobster in to little bits and then sauteeing them in the melted butter. My husband thought this was hilarious.
We got the Flemming's salad 1 serving put on 2 plates it was great, but unnecessary.
For a side we had the esparagus Wonderful - we ate everything like it was our last meal. The waitress was a delight. The manager stopped by and spoke with us too. The restaurant staff makes an effort to make everyone feel at home.
I definitely recommend this restaurant as a fabulous place to go as a couple or with friends.
