“overall great place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

my stay lasted for 3 days and each day was better then the next. the hotel had a cool vibe and the manager / staff were friendly and helpful (not stuffy... which was refreshing). rooms were beautiful and bed was so comfortable. the only downfall was that the pool was closed. already booked our return stay for next summer and the pool better be open this time!

We loved this place and its cool interior, lofty apartments and unique funky bar. Our only complaint was that the bar wasn't staffed all the time but appreciate it was out of season by the time we left. If you are holidaying in the area then this is the hotel for you! Although no breakfast and/or facilities for coffee on site, it's a perfect excuse to try one of the many good eateries around. Cake, bake and roll does terrific muffins and breakfast from 7am or the Turning Point does full on brunch - try the banana French toast if you can't decide, yummy! We didn't try the beach club which you had to pay for but there are many beach clubs along the sea front, all of which seem to charge a similar amount. You also get free parking for the length of the stay.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary and love the area of long branch. After looking on the Internet we realized that there were only 4 hotels in area .... Well we picked the best. Not gonna lie stopped at Ocean place first, but after reading reviews and was told the price for a night stay we got back in the car and drove away. Thank god!!! The bungalow is AWESOME. The room was sooo clean you could smell just how clean it was. The room which was a king studio was absolutely adorable. The bed was so comfortable. You melt into it. The staff is so friendly. All and all it was a great stay and cannot wait to go back. Loved it!!!!!

This hotel was like staying at a frat house. We (my husband and I) had the unfortunate opportunity of staying over labor day weekend. Our hotel room had makeup smeared on the walls, the toilet paper holder had been ripped from the wall, the shelf in the shower was hanging off as it too had been pulled from the wall, and the lights in our lamps were blown out. When we asked for replacement bulbs we were told the hotel was aware of the problem but didn't have any replacement ones. Overall the room showed significant signs of abuse and looked liked like the maids had done the bare minimum in clean up. Our duvet had a blood spot on it and our sheets were less than pristine white (I can only hope due to sunscreen stains). GROSS.

Upon checking out we expressed our disappointment in our stay to the manager who told us quite frankly that because it was labor day weekend the state of our room was "to be expected" because people had stayed in the room back to back and the hotel had been unable to do routine maintenance. We spent over $500 for ONE NIGHT. In my opinion, not worth the money and the attitude of the manager was completely unacceptable. No sincere apologies or even an offer to offset some of the cost. However, we were offered a "free room upgrade" upon our return. Are you kidding me? You couldn't pay me to go back.

A small but cool hotel in an area where hotels range from a big resort hotel next door and several chain hotels in the area. Though it's not a "full service" hotel, none of the competition is as new, modern or fun as Bungalow. The general atmosphere is laid back and even the least expensive rooms are quite big. The beach is just a 2 min walk with plenty of restaurants in the area and a coffee/bakery place right next door. The lobby lounge and bar is a bit small but hosts a pool table and local beers on tap.
There is no Gym in the hotel, but they will give you passes to the Gold's Gym 300ft away.
On the negative side, the chairs and tables in the rooms are not very comfortable. Otherwise, if you have to stay in the area, it usually beats the bigger hotels in the area on price and is much nicer.

Room Tip: Though not much more expensive, you can really just stay at the least expenisve rooms as the next ti...

Beautiful modern design close to the beach. Defenitely not on the beach nor will you get an ocean view. If you are exclusivley looking for an ocean front this is not it. However, if you are looking for cleanliness, sleek modern design absolutely. It's the best Jersey Shore has to offer in my opinion. It needs room service! The bakery next door helps, but honestly needs to get a partnership with a restaurant to offer room service. I booked in peak season so it was pricey. The rooms are gorgeous and I would come again, but for shorter stay:)

4 of us (2 adults, 2 adult daughters) shared a suite with 2 separate private bathrooms stayed for 2 nights for a family getaway. This was our first visit to Long Branch.

King size beds were very comfortable and clean. Room came equipped with a galley-like kitchen (no stove) with a pantry closet and refrigerator. Very nice modern living room area for late night Scrabble games or TV watching. (There were 2 TVs in the room.) Dining table could seat 6 very comfortably.

The room had a detectable odor when I first walked in, but dissipated after I turned on the AC. The housekeepers need to be given better smelling floor cleaner (or new mops?).

I really liked the free pool table in the lobby. It isn't often that I see a regulation 8' table while traveling.

The hotel was conveniently located to Pier Village (the main shopping area) and restaurants. However, the "pool" advertised was quite a disappointment. Firstly, it was a walk from the hotel and was located in the upstairs portion of a restaurant (?). It was more a small wading pool about 3' deep and people brought their (loud) young kids there. The "private beach area" consisted of a fenced in corner near the boardwalk but far from the shore. For a $25 per person fee, you got a chair, a towel and an umbrella to share.

The room was really the best part of the hotel. However, the view from our very large windows has yet to be built. We faced a dirt road on one side, the parking lot on another. But, the daylight was bright and made it feel airy.

I liked the Bungalow, but I wouldn't recommend this place for young children as there's not much for them to do here. On the other hand, the 4 of us had a friendly foozball game in the lobby. It was fun.
