I can't think of any constructive criticism for this establishment. We were seated immediately, the atmosphere is nice, the restaurant was crowded on a Tuesday evening (reservations necessary), and there was a good vibe. They had a sufficient number of people working. The menu was limited; the staff were pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu and preparations.
We had a three-course prix-fixe meal, $45 each, BYOB, cash only. They sent out an amuse that was very tasty; I am not sure what was in it but mushrooms were the star. We started with a salad that included grapes, candied walnuts and bleu cheese and mushroom soup. Both were nicely done.
We then ordered Beef a la Mode (horseradish) and Chicken Breast with lemon, garlic & sage. Chicken breast may sound "boring" but it was delicious, moist and I don't know how they imparted that much flavor. The beef was fork tender and delicious. Both were accompanied by pea pods and carrots perfectly cooked.
Desserts were all great choices - hard to choose. We selected White Chocolate Bread Pudding -- and it was to die for, and roasted pineapple with Coconut Sorbet.
It was very loud but other than that, a great evening.
