My husband and I were greatly looking forward to having dinner at Brian's after reading reviews on Trip Advisor and the New York Times. Unfortunately, however, our visit didn't live up to it's promise. We both ordered beef with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The beef was good but not as delicious as we were expecting it to be after all the hype, and the mashed potatoes lacked body and taste. The bread wasn't anything special, either, although we were told it wasn't house made. We both enjoyed, the mushroom soup, however - it was the best thing on the menu! The desserts were non-descript and not as delicious as we would have hoped. We also found the ambience at Brian's to be disappointing - the open kitchen, while interesting, created a lot of noise. If you were seated against the wall as we were, the bench with pillows could be uncomfortable for those with back problems. I doubt if we'll be returning soon.
