“Small intimate place with good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2014

This is a cozy little place for a romantic dinner date. Food is good and the service attentive. Its a BYOB so you can enjoy a wine of your own choosing and enjoy it with whatever special suits your palate.

“Great Little Treasure”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2013 via mobile

We've been eating at Le Rendezvous for years. It's a great place to meet friends and have a comfortable, cozy dinner ... the atmosphere is warm and the staff is welcoming. The real star is the food though. Perfectly prepared and very nice portions. The duck confit appetizer was fantastic, as was the crabmeat salad. My wife had the bouillabaisse and she was in ecstasy. I had the seafood trio, which was great, especially the perfectly seared, wonderfully salty scallop. The place is pricy but the fact that it's BYOB makes it more reasonable. Just a great meal.

“Delicious but very expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

The food was delicious, preparation first class, portions ok although a bit small--all typical for a great French restaurant.

However, it was not s great value in my mind as all the main courses were more than $30. So, a meal for two with one shared appetizer, two main dishes, a shared dessert and tip came to $113. Definitely upscale!

“It saves you the airfare - the heart of France beating in New Jersey”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2013 via mobile

What can I say, but that this restaurant is an absolute treasure. Every dish is crafted with the kind of expertise and, dare I say, love that only a chef-owner of the highest calibre can bestow, yet still served with the humility of family. First courses shine, from foie gras to a "simple" goat cheese salad, and the same can be said about each plat principaux. Seafood, beef, game... Superb. On the rare occasion that it graces the menu the seemingly ordinary "chicken grandma style" (I'm translating here) will show you how amazing mere chicken can be. If, like me, you have dessert about six times a year, you will want it here.

Folks, this is real cooking from someone who comes from a place where such cooking is part of the deep culture, part of our human heritage, and we are damned lucky to be able to find it in Kenilworth or anywhere this side of the Atlantic for that matter.

“Charming restaurant, very good meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013

Excellent mushroom soup to start and the meal courses came out at just the right pace. Not rushed. The Bouillabaisse dish was very simply done and fresh. 2 others at the table ordered the steak -- very nicely done. An overall very good experience.
