“Love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

We were here with a large group and this location couldn't have been any better. Located next to the Path, 2 blocks from the Light Rail. And close to great places to eat. Greg at the Concierge is amazing and most helpful. Dana at the bar makes you feel at home. Great view and a great place to relax at the end of a hectic day.

Although situated in Jersey City, Manhattan (World Trade Centre) is only 5 mins away by Path train, the station of which is a one minute walk away from the hotel. The hotel is situated on the banks of the Hudson with panoramic views across the river to the New York skyline which is a very memorable sight. In my opinion, this location is infinitely preferable to the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. Trains run all through the night so if you're partying/clubbing into the small hours it's still easy to return to the hotel albeit with a reduced frequency (about every 30 mins during the night) - we did this at 0330 one night and experienced no problems.

Run around tickets are available on both the Path and the MTA (NY subway) - each costing about $30 a head - excellent value if staying for a week.

Water taxis run from a pier a couple of minutes walk away although some of them operate only at rush hour and none of course during the night.

The hotel itself offers a high standard of accommodation with friendly and very helpful staff - a big thank you to Megan, one of the receptionists who helped us out. Rooms are spacious and comfortable with a safe in which to keep belongings at no extra charge.

An internet connection/printer is available adjacent to reception to print airline boarding passes for your return trip.

Bar drinks are pricey as one would expect.

There is a gym and a small pool.

There is complimentary coffee in the room but with powdered milk which tasted rather disgusting - perhaps management could look at supplying miniature fresh milk cartons......

Internet is $10 per day but there is a Starbucks coffee shop across from the hotel where it is free.

The only downside to staying here was breakfast. We had to wait 10 minutes for a table because they hadn't all been cleared. The bacon and sausages had run out and after a 5 minute wait, they had still not been replenished so I gave up as the rest of my breakfast was getting cold. A very poor choice of fresh fruit and on the hot dishes - no mushrooms, tomatoes, beans or hash browns. At $23 a head, I expected much better. Needless to say, we ate elsewhere after that experience. A pity as the view from the restaurant is superb.

There is very little else in the immediate vicinity of the hotel - a very good Chinese/Asian restaurant and a superb deli/supermarket which is about a 5 min walk away - ideal for having a DIY lunch/snack.

If you want some shopping away from the hustle and bustle of NY, then take the Path train to Newport - a 10 min ride where there is a very good mall.

Apart from the breakfast experience, all other aspects of the hotel were top class and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone visiting New York. We had a very enjoyable stay so a big thank to you all staff.

Room Tip: Request a quiet room well away from below the ballroom which is on the top floor.

If you are in the Jersey City area, you must stay at the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson. A spectacular view of lower Manhattan with easy access to the subway. The staff was the friendliest and must helpful I've ever experienced. Highly recommend this Hotel.

The room was beautiful, staff was friendly and I would like to stay again, however there was a mix up with my reservation and an added charge to my bill that I had to take care of. I am hopeful of a two night free stay.

Spending holiday next to NYC, but in a quiet place to relax and enjoy the view.
The hotel offers the amazing view from New York and Hudson river.
Also, it is very very close to train station that crosses the river to New York.
Including a helpful staff and a comfort accommodation, there is nothing more to wish in your stay.

Visited for a wedding and very impressed with hotel and location to the Path with connection to NY. Would have liked for bathrooms to have a ventilation fan in it as if you took a hot shower you couldn't see to get ready for a long time after. Overall we were very satisfied with the hotel and service.
