“Good solid hotel....”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 3, 2013

Ok...not in the best of locations...but clean, good pool-outdoor pool as well for summer...., ok gym & friendly staff.
Been staying here for years...hotel has upgraded...rooms clean & staff friendly.
Ok..it is noisy...it's on a freeway!! But it's clean & the staff are nice.
Business centre with free use...but hotel does has WIFI included in our company's package.
If in a business room, mon-fri free breakfast. But good buffet in hotel
Bar cheap & well priced bar snacks $10 for a dozen chicken wings...yum!!

Room Tip: Ask for a non facing room to freeway if a light sleeper.

Hotel is clean, staff are friendly & helpful. Bus takes you to local mall which is 10 mins away as well as the metro station where you can take train to New York. Rooms are clean and spacious. Hotel has small gym and inside swimming and outside pool and sitting area. A few restaurants within walking distance.

First impressions good, as this hotel has been refurbished not too long ago, and the reception area has some bright pieces of artwork hanging about. Staff friendly and helpful. Business centre easily accessible, which I appreciated with self service computers and printer/photocopiers, the usual. All quite open plan, with open plan restaurant along from reception. Fairly corporate style. Rooms average; reasonable size. Opening windows. Bathroom modern well laid out, open plan style again with wardrobe in it. Aveda bath products. However, my room was noisy - the hotel is situated right by busy main roads/junction, and there was continual traffic noise until v late into the evening, and from quite early on in the morning, Bad enough to need ear plugs.....
The executive lounge on the 4th floor was a little disappointing in the evening as virtually no food was available apart from some cheese, and drinks were not complimentary. However, the service and items provided for breakfast were considerably better. The hotel runs frequent shuttle buses to local destinations, including two shopping malls, and to the station, for trips into NYC. Thus shuttle service very helpful, occasionally running extra services where possible. Several restaurant options nearby; none more close than the Kona Grill, which is located in the hotel car park! .... and is recommended for their tasty food and bar cocktails - good value particularly during their Happy Hour, which STARTS at 9pm! Overall, hotel lacks real atmosphere, despite its recent arty additions, but is suitable for corporate block buildings, or anyone interested in a lower cost alternative to central Manhattan. A special mention for shoppers; the Menlo Mall is better than the local Woodbridge Mall (although the shuttle bus calls in at both) and there is zero percent sales tax. The helpfulness of the staff, in particular the concierge and the Lounge Staff, has lead me to give a rating of 5 for service, but I would add a cautionary note as they seem under pressure on checkin.

Room Tip: Do try and get a room not facing busy main road.

I had a room on the secon floor facing the high way, and I have to say that I got headaches every morning because of the noice. . Also the air conditioning is difficult to set up. If you are not noise sensitive, or if you can get a room to the back, it is a cost effective hotel(99 usd) for a evry good auality and very large rooms. the train station is just one mile away, and atkes you in 40 minutes to New York Penn Station for 10 USD. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to the train station, and also to the Menlo Mall near by. The staff is very helpful.

Room Tip: choose a room to the back!

Had a long weekend flying into Newark and stayed at this hotel. it was a bit out of the way, but the hotel itself was spot on. The room was very comfortable and large, tea and coffee making facilities (yippee) and a firm bed (unusual for the US).

The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is not a special hotel, but one that does everything well.

Breakfast was enjoyable and adequate.

I guess this is more a conference business hotel - but we liked it. Oh - and if you are here and want to eat (good and healthy food) - across the road is a fish restaurant/bar - this is by far better than those this side of the hotel.

The hotel is a very nice hotel. The entrance was that of a grand hotel and the decorations were the same. The rooms were clean and comfortable. My family stayed for one night and had a great sleep. We had to call for an ice bucket and towels which they promptly brought up and then called to ensure that we had received them.

We stayed in this hotel from 12/24 to 12/26/12.

The rooms were nicely decorated and was kept clean. Bed was not as comfortable as other Marriott properties. The bed pillows seemed to be past their life span and were not comfortable.

Staff in this hotel was not friendly and did not interact much with the guests.

I called the front desk with a problem in my room and the front desk agent hung the phone up on me. After hanging the phone up she would not answer the phone back when I immediately tried to call the desk back.
