Agree with ma ny others. Stayed here as a park and fly earlier in the year. Parksleepfly.com has a nerve even having them on their website! We arrived to a man doing a driug deal on his cellphone and a hooker screaming about price of rooms to a man behind bullet-proof glass. The room wasn't very clean. We got no sleep thanks to the clientelle and all the noise they were making. Elevators smelled strongly of pot smoke. taxi sent for us was sleezy with driver behind bullet proof glass, talking on cellphone and breaking all kinds of traffic rules. After voicing my complaints, I was offered a free night. NO THANK YOU

This place is no way as bad as people have made out. We stayed for 4 nights at a total at $341 and had no problems, yes its in a less than desireable place, yes theres a bullet proof window in the reception but what do u expect when u get a cheap deal???
we had no problems what so ever, the worst thing was the smell of smoke in the hallways but ive had worse places to stay, mostly have costed far more than this too. Having said this i did come under the impression that rooms are rented out for "short term" stays, but hey, whatever!!
the guy at reception was very helpful, we asked about the area and he advised us not to walk about late at night, but offered that if we wanted to get food from anywhere he would get his driver to take us there! i havent got anything bad to say about the staff, they were all helpful if we requested a THING!
i have to admit that i was a bit worried after reading the reports on the net but after being here for the first night and was more than happy that we carried thru with this deal!
the area appears very run down, but it appears the people who have written these reviews are "stereotyping" the area and its inhabitants, if your careful and dont flaunt things then ur gonna be fine, we walked back from Irvington Station to the hjotel at all times, early AM and Late PM(Gone 22:00) and had no problems or nervous moemnts, we even got lost on our first day with all our luggage and the worst that happened, we had a group og old men who were working at a car garage take the mick out of us cos we completey walked by Union Avenue then asked for directions!!!!!
by the way both of us are in our early 20's so perhaps this may have something to do with the vast differance in opinions on this page!! when i come back to NYC in the near future and the price is still as excellent as it is then i will defiantly come back, good value for money for just 30/45 mins bus ride from Times Square!!

This place was DISGUSTING! The room smelt like pee. We got stuck in Newark for the night after a week in the Caribbean - this was the only available hotel - the shuttle took an HOUR to come get us and the driver didnt get out to help with our suitcases, he spent the whole time driving on the highway and TEXTING! The Man behind the counter was creepy and rude....behind BULLET PROOF GLASS! The whole area was scummy with what looked like hookers outside. We spent close to $100 for the room including tax and it was NOT worth it. There was no lift or porters, we had to drag our suitcases up two flights of stairs, the halls smelt like a combination of ciggerettes and pee. The room was disgusting, smelt like pee, the place was dirty, the carpet wasnt fitted property, the sheets were dirty - we had to take our dirty clothes out of our suitcase and sleep on those instead of the bedding. In total got about 4 hours sleep from the grossness, smell and noise. Absolutely recommended you never stay there - worst hotel I have EVER seen.

Disgusted hotel I have ever seen....This should be yor last choice.
Located at a high crime place...not safe at all and then they have no security guards...Bathrooms were smelling bad and looks like they have not cleaned it from ages.

The presentation on the website is different from the reality .
We booked it for microwave and refrigerator and when reached there they charged us $5 per day extra for that.

On top of it they deducted the total amunt twice from our account and didnt feel sorry at all for that.

Customer service guy could barely speak english and also not helpful at all.

I wooulnd't want to stay there again just to save couple of $
