Please don't visit this hotel it has bed bugs and instead of the staff giving us an apology they blamed it on the guest that come for the stay. I told them that they need to shut down the hotel and get the place exterminated the correct way. They refused so I plan to contact the health department so please if you especially from out of town dont go please.

Hello,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience while staying at our hotel. We are very sorry that you were unhappy with the accommodation provided to you.

The hotel investigated your claim and a nationally known third party pest control company was contracted to inspect the room you stayed in thoroughly. They did not find any evidence of bed bugs. Note that this is an impartial company who has no agenda with respect to validating or invalidating your claims of an infestation.

Generally, our hotel employs a very aggressive pest control policy and our philosophy is to always err on the side of safety and proactive treatment, including weekly service calls by a licensed company (most of our competitors get monthly service).

Again, I am very sorry for your dissatisfaction with us while staying at the hotel, but I urge you to give us another chance so we can demonstrate the cleanliness of the hotel to you.

Thanks,
A. Naik - Manager

This was the best hotel I've ever stayed in, the room was big and comfortable, and the hotel itself had everything you could ever want. The hotel is located near by Newark International Airport which was very convenient. Affordable and best staff. I would definitely stay here again!

I went to the hotel 2 times. Both times good. The ladies at the front desk (Deepka and Carolina were so nice and remembered me). They were very accommodating and friendly to me and my family. Although not in the best neighborhood and I am familiar with the area, that didn't worry me. Their self service complimentary breakfast was nice. They had a variety of breakfast to eat for everyone. The beds were comfortable and the rooms were nice for the stay and the building was quiet for a goodnite sleep. I would recommend this place for a short stay and for the "Best Value" price.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms on 2nd and 3rd floors, instead of main floor, they are very quiet floors.

The building was dirty. The room was filthy. It smelled. There were (many) fingerprints on the mirror. Standing water on the bathtub. Mold on the sink. The pillows were crooked and the bed poorly made. Stay away from there

Thank you for sharing your opinion of our hotel during your recent visit to our hotel. I deeply regret not being able to meet your expectations for your stay with us. From reading the issues you raised, it certainly appears that we failed to meet our goal of 100% satisfaction.

I shared your feedback with every associate in our maintenance and housekeeping departments so we can improve our performance and improve for your next visit to the area. I urge you, on behalf of our employees, to give us a second try and allow us to earn your praise in the future.

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We are sorry your concerns were not addressed to your satisfaction, however let me assure you and all our other guests that our hotel has a very stringent pest control program that far exceeds state requirements and even our competitors. Our hotel has even received praise from state and local health departments for how aggressive and proactive our pest control policy is.

Specific to your concerns, after the front desk was made aware of the issues you faced, an inspection was performed by a licensed pest control expert, with results showing that the room was being kept in a very poor condition by the guest, including food items littered on the floors and furniture. The pest control company did perform the appropriate treatment and the issue will be closely monitored.

With respect to our staff's work ethic, I must respectfully disagree with your assessment of their laziness and sub-par cleaning. Our hotel very recently was awarded the highest cleanliness rating in a franchise Quality Assurance inspection, which reflects the importance we give to hotel and room cleanliness. We have received this award repeatedly in the last 6 years and take pride in being recognized as the "Best of the Best".

Again, I apologize for your experiences while staying with us, but rest assured every member of our staff strives to exceed each guest's lodging expectations.

When approaching the motel we (two female German travellers) asked ourselves "What have we done?" because the neighbourhood looked a bit frightening and was full of rubbish, even a dead cat lay on the road. We entered the lobby, however, and after a few misunderstandings concerning the rooms we had booked online, we were both rewarded with a spacious room each, clean and better (though not actually state-of-the-art) equipped than in other, far more expensive motels we had stayed in the weeks before. All members of the staff were helpful at any time, the breakfast in a tidy room was pretty good and well supervised by an Indian couple.
Most astonishing was the fact, that the adjacent Turnpike didn't keep us awake at night, nor did the other guests from all over the world. None of them was complaining, all felt safe on the property, though there were some "species" trying to enter the hotel, which they always were denied to do without a guest picking them up from the lobby (We never saw that happen.).
They have got a bus shuttle to Newark airport and even take their guests to a nearby bus terminal from where we used to catch the 107 E to the Port Authority Terminal near Times Square (Only a 30-minutes' ride at 13 $ for a return ticket!). Though they offered to pick us up from Irvington Bus Terminal after dark, we courageously decided to walk three blocks "home", and we were not robbed on the way ;-). When we arrived the receptionist asked whether we had experienced any problems on the way. They really always care:
The receptionist helped us finding the Circle Line office in New York where we intended to book a cruise around Manhattan and when we returned he asked whether everything had been O.K. They also made long phonecalls with a car rental office to help two Belgian couples solve their problems with this company.
Should any of our friends ask us where to stay during a visit to New York we would always recommend the ABVI in Irvington, because of the family-like atmosphere, the good chance of getting recreative sleep at night and the most reasonable prices, which leave you enough money to spend in N.Y.'s shops and attractions. As there is no restaurant nearby they should dine in N.Y. or take something from a deli to Irvington, if they do not want to feast on pizza every night.

Room Tip: We stayed in rooms which are in the same building as the looby is. Maybe thersecond building facing...
