“Amazing View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 22, 2013

A gret place to visit, esppecially on your way to Sandy Hook or Sea Bright beach areas. Plenty of free parking, a nice place to walk around. But wear comfortable shoes, and be prepared to walk. VERY MUDDY even after a light rain. The stairs are VERY NERY tight, but views are spectacular from here; certainly can see NY Harbor, and crusie ships leaving form NYC. Picnic facilities allow you to stay several hours. A great place to bring the pups to run around. This is always a nice place to stroll around on a Sunday afternoon.

“History with a view”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

The Twin Lights is a true slice of American history and kept with the respect it deserves. The views are priceless on a clear day and a trip up the circular stairway will bring you back in time. The museum and grounds will recapture a past that enthralls me with each visit. It is a beautiful and relaxing spot in the little Hamlett town of Highlands! Truly worth the visit!

“One of the best views around!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2013

Twin Lights is one of our favorite places to visit as a family. After climbing the stairs and enjoying the spectacular views from the top, we usually have a picnic lunch in the little park area surrounding the building. It is so beautiful and peaceful, it simply cannot be beat! We have taken many friends here too, who visit us from out of town/state/country. They all love it. On a clear day, you can see the Manhattan skyline- so pretty, the ocean and Sandy Hook are right there too. :)
The little adjoining museum is interesting as well and the original lens (huge and still revolving in the museum next door) is impressive!
It is important to note that only the North Tower is open for visits throughout the year. They open the South Tower only one weekend a year during what is known as the Lighthouse Challenge. It usually takes place in mid October- you will have to call Twin Lights or check website for the exact dates every year. Definitely worth a visit!

“Worth a Visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 6, 2013

You MUST stop and take a look. The view from the top of the Twin Lights is GREAT! BUT, the stairs are very steep and narrow. If your a big person like me it's a tight squeeze.

“Go on a clear day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

This is a very interesting and historic landmark. The road getting up there is a bit narrow and steep - but once you are there you are at the highest point along the eastern shore of the USA. The view from there is amazing - some great views of Sandy Hook as well as the NYC skyline. It also has a very interesting museum and how the Twin Lights played a part in maritime history and their uses in the wars.
