“Now the Raddisson and clean but mean”

Radisson Hotel Freehold

Jul 10, 2008

I was going to have my wedding here until the night of the tasting. There food is average at best, when cooked correctly. At a tasting I would be worried they give us food that is to good and that the day of the wedding it's not as good. So, I was worried when they over cooled the steak so much that it was way past well done. They did not even ask how we wanted it and i guess when the catering manager is away from you that long you don't have time to ask anything. She was not helpful at all. It seemed like she didn't want us there. We were have a 200 guest wedding and they all would stay over. Infact some the entire week. I don't get it we were going to spend 50,000! Does she not want that? We were set to have the wedding there and all she had to do is not f it up. I mean we were 99% sure and she messed it up and when the meat came out she was like oh well i guess he left it in to long. and that's it! I was like who do you think you are? I have gone to over 20 places and they just don't want buisness. I guess they can afford it being a new hotel and all. It was weird. If you don't care about people looking at you as just another bride and just another customer then the rooms are small but clean and the ballroom is great, but the food is not good, go to shoprite and cook the steak on the grill to get better. also check up on them they forget to get back to you.
Also, if you want anything special or personal forget it and she will not help accomadate you with that either.

Stayed here for one night on my Springsteen pilgrimage.

Room was large and appeared very clean. Bathroom was small but did have a tub. There was a view of a car park but to be honest not much to look at anywhere around the hotel.

One strange thing was that there was no guest information in the room at all, not even a piece of paper with breakfast times, nothing. I have never seen that before, perhaps it is to encourage guests to speak to staff but it just seems to be a cost cutting exercise.

Staff were ok, mostly friendly and helpful. There is a drinks/snack vending machine in the lobby and ice machine on each floor level.

Breakfast reasonable, cereal, juice, bagels, donuts, "chef" friendly but seemed bored.

Beds were rock hard, I slept well but tired from long flight, might be too much for some.

No in room safe or fridge.

Ideal base to explore freehold visit local mall, I would have no problems staying here again.

My wife and I stayed here for a Wedding that was at the Hotel, rooms were nice & clean a little dated but the service was great.
From the time we checked-in to the day we left all went well.
Great food, the reception was the best also the outside pool was quite refreshing the day after.
We also noticed renovations are starting for a soon to be Radisson Hotel we can't wait to return.
THANK YOU

Being 1 of only 2 hotels in the area, this hotel simply doesn't have to try in order to get business.

Bad Points:
Dated Rooms
Strange bathroom with pre-moulded plastic fittings
Basic Breakfast (pre-packed muffins, toast your own waffles)
Average staff
Drained swimming pool

Good Points
Cheap ($110 for the night)
Fairly clean
Large bed

I wouldn't stay here for a holiday but for 1 night away with work, it's not the worst place I've ever stayed.

I spent one night at Freehold Gardens Hotel on a weekend trip to Six Flags. Like most small hotels on/near major interstates the place could use an update. I did not have a reservation but the desk staff was friendly and accommodating, much to my surprise. The room was clean and contained all the basics for an overnight stay. It surely isn't the Waldorf Astoria but it was worth the price. It's the closest hotel to Six Flags and I would definitely stay there again.
