“Great little French Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 1, 2013

Our Party of 4 had a great meal on a busy Saturday night. The fact that it is a BYOB makes it very affordable. Appetizers like Onion and Leek Tart and Seafood Napoleon were superb. The main courses ran from great seafood to excellent Duck the traditional way. Service was attentive and even though the room is small, there was sense of urgency to have us move along.

“Wonderful experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 29, 2013 via mobile

Last night I wrote a scathing review of SAddle River Inn in s Saddle River NJ.Tonight 4 of us ate at The Chefs Table which is the antithesis of The Ssddle River Inn .The food and service were wonderful but most important there is a chef/owner who cares about his customers and speaks to each table . I left feeling cleansed from my horrendous experience of last night at the Saddle River Inn with the arrogant owner.I have never reviewed restaurants before but I do think The Chefs Table is a special experience .Hopefully the obnoxious little owner of the Inn can someday learn how to be gracious to his patrons before the Inn loses all its business .Every dish tonight was perfectly prepared in a truly welcoming atmosphere .

“First time and liked it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2013

Always heard good things about this place. Located in a nondescript strip mall it's easy to pass right by. The decor is homey but not elegant but then again you are there for the food. I had the venison plate with delicious gravy and spatzle and my wife had a veal dish. Both were scrumptious! The baked Alaska for desert is one of their signature desserts and is to die for! Prices were ok for a great meal and service was excellent. Best part also is its a BYOB

“Excellent French food, beautifully presented”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 9, 2012

As soon as we were seated, we were given a little crock of delicious chicken pate with perfectly crusty bread. We shared an hors d'oevre of perfectly garlicky escargot, in individual little pots, each topped with pastry. I enjoyed my duck a l'orange, which was tender and juicy, but a little too sweet. The apple tart was delicious for dessert. BYO wine kept the price manageable.

The service was pleasant and very efficient, but slightly rushed.

“The best restaurant we have been to in ages!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 8, 2012 via mobile

We can't say enough. The food, the service and the atmosphere--all wonderful. The salads were perfect, the tuna was the best we have ever had, with a sauce so delicious and subtle, a scallop dish cooked to perfection, and a rice pudding that was amazing. Worth the wait for a reservation--you must call weeks in advance.
