“What a Pleasant Surprise!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

First time here and we were greeted as if we were regulars! Service was superb and the menu choices outstanding. Everything was excellent - FRESH fish, Tender pork, crisp salad.
Will be going back for sure.

“Much improved since our last visit”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2013

It's been over a year since we visited the Bistro. We decided to gather a few friends and give it another shot. I wrote the "avoid" review from visits here after they opened in 2011. Has it changed? You bet.

It's an old victorian house, so it has the advantage of having several small rooms giving it a more personal feel. The menu is extensive now, with something to please anyone. Service was fast and very friendly. In general the presentation of the entrees has improved 100%.

The food was good overall. We all enjoyed the house salad. One of our entrees was slightly cold but they were busy that evening. I'm very happy that they are continuing to improve and can honestly say I'm looking forward to trying some of the other items on the menu in future visits.

“I think we found our new favorite restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2013

We've been talking about going here for the last year or so and finally made it there tonight. The place was surprisingly empty for 7:30 on a Friday night, although they do close at 9:00. Our dinner was fabulous from start to finish. We started with bruschetta which was excellent. It was mild with no overpowering garlic. I am not a tomato lover, but ate every bite. We each had a cup of the seafood bisque, which was also very good. The house salad was quite possibly the best salad I've ever eaten. It was a spring mix, with candied pecans, dried cranberries and an excellent balsamic vinaigrette. For our main course my husband had the coconut shrimp, which were a little different than the standard. They were nice sized battered and deep fried and then covered with coconut on a bed of rice with a sweetish orangey sauce. I had the shrimp and crab pot pie, which had large chunks of crabmeat, shrimp and peas in a white sauce with a slab of puff pastry on top. Both of us loved our dinners and ate every last bite. For dessert we shared a pc of the coconut cake. The cake was homemade and pretty good, but definitely not as good as the rest of our dinner. Our server, Kelly was pleasant and attentive without being a nuisance. She was everything a good server should be. We both left stuffed, pleasantly surprised and will definitely be going back in the very near future. Total bill for the two of us was just about $75, which was more than reasonable considering the quality and quantity of food ordered.

“A Gem in Elmer”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 3, 2013

The B on B is a gem in this small town restaurant converted from an old house. Good food and reasonable prices. Live entertainment at times (tip: though the music isn't very loud, it may not suit your conversation. Ask for seating away from the music if need be) Reservations for peak times, especially Sundays a must. Service can be a little slow during busy times, but it's worth the wait. Portions are good sized.
