I stayed at the Courtyard after misconnecting at Newark. The hotel is
in a very convenient location for the Newark airport, and has a free shuttle from the P4 Airtrain station. Check-in was efficient, and the
bar was open late - which was helpful after a frustrating day. The room was fresh and clean, and the bedding nice. You can hear the planes taking off, but its a small price to pay for staying 10 minutes from the airport.

I only stayed one night, but the room was a bit cramped ...too much furniture in the room. The shower handle was broken so you had to fumble with it to get the water to turn on and off. The remote for the TV ddi not work so we had to get up to turn the channel. Our room was close to the elevator which made it very noisy and kids were running back and forth through the halls. A continental breakfast was included but only included cereal and fruit. The full breakfast which wasn't that good was a bit pricey. The hotel was located directly across from the The Jersey Garden Outlet Mall which was the reason for my trip.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel 12-28 to 12-3. This was a nice clean hotel. Staff was friendly, rooms were clean and food was good, although food was a little expensive. It is located about 5 mins from airport and about 20-30 mins from manhanttan by path train. We had a wonderful stay at this hotel and we would Definitely stay again. Often stay at this property. One thing I find consistent is poor staff attitude especially from reception and housekeeping. Oftentimes checking in late - after midnight, I always have the same night auditor checking me in. He always seems annoyed that he must stop what he is doing to attend to a guest. I have witnessed this on more than one occassion. As a platinum memeber with Marriott, this property gives as their "welcome" amenity toothpaste and H2O...very strange! If you are not checked out of your room at the prescribed time, i.e. 12:00 at 1 minute past you will receive a call from housekeeping asking when you are leaving. You tell them you are out the door and within is 2 minutes someone is knocking on your door, "you just told me you were leaving..." Very rude. The beds are comfortable and the free internet and parking is a definite plus. The mall is directly across the street as well as a Ruby Tuesdays. Location is great - right off of the turnpike. I have over 100 nights at various Marriott properties this year, this is not the best nor the worst, but for convenience and location it is a good choice. As far as staff attitudes are concerned I would rate them at the bottom. I have spoken to the Manager about this, but have learned the attitude is the same throughout the hotel. There are 4 other Marriott properties on the airport - the full scale Marriott is probably the best, but when parking and internet fees are added it is not such a great value. The others (Courtyard -dirty, Fairfield, and Springhill ) are okay, but location is on the other side of the airport, extremely limited dining choices, and oftentimes have large groups of high school kids running through the hallways If you are lucky to get a studio suite at the Farfield it a plus.
