“Very clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013

This hotel is newly remodeled. It is very clean and they do their best to take care of your needs. We checked in at almost 1:00 am and they were very accommodating. There was a mix up where we were given a room with one king for 4 people but it was rectified very promptly. I would highly recommend this hotel.

Spent a few nights at this hotel which was located right on the highway, area secure. Rooms neet & clean, warm cookie waiting on arrival. The pool area was clean & fun. Hotel has a great restaurant onsite.

Room Tip: ask for high floor

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2013 via mobile

Spent one night on business trip. Check in was efficient and agent was friendly. Received room 941, king n/s. Rooms are recently updated in modern decor. Like the wood floor in the foyer by closet/bathroom. Nice touch. Bed and linens very nice and very comfortable! Nice robe in closet, too. Coffee is single-serve.

Bathroom amenities by Aveda and lighted make up mirror. Towels could be more plush and shower head could be mounted higher for us tall people (6'2"), but otherwise all OK.

For being an airport area hotel, it was extremely quiet! If you don't have a car you're kind of stuck dining at the hotel unless you fancy a walk. Airport shuttle was frequent. Lobby very hip. Small business center off lobby but they make you pay to print a boarding pass (not cool).

Would stay here again.

The rooms were nicely decorated and were quiet. It's very near the airport and other than that the location and views are not much to speak of.

I ate at the restaurant for both dinner and breakfast. Both were good and the dinner was better than one usually gets at an airport hotel. If I had to choose between this hotel and the Newark Marriott, I'd choose this one.

Would definetly recommend this hotel, or any Renaissance hotels. Excellent location, friendly staff, excellent service, beautiful rooms and decor and a wide range of facilities. Stayed here 1 night before boarding a cruise, was ideally located for the airport and the port.
The rooms were very large and spacious, good temperature and lovely bedding and large comfortable bed.
I used the pool which was large and clean. Very good facilities.
Used the bar and restaurant which were both good with friendly service. The prices seemed expensive but it was well worth it.

Room Tip: I stayed in a disabled room even though I am not disabled, the room was much larger than my other pa...

Checked in during a Friday evening. While at the desk, had another customer interject and demand service from the desk clerk. Desk clerk took care of the other customer for five minutes then returned to finish my check-in. Bad omen for the rest of the stay.

Arriving at my room, discovered it had no shampoo, soap or conditioner. Called down to desk to ask for some to be sent up. Clerk very snippy and asked why I wanted "extra". I told clerk there was no "extra" to be had, as a matter of fact there was nothing. Took an hour for someone to finally show up with those items, and then had to endure a bad attitude from the employee. Told me the tip I had given was not satisfactory, but pocketed it and left grumbling. What?

The physical facilities are okay, but the surrounding neighborhood is abhorrent. Like putting a Four Seasons in the middle of downtown Detroit.

Will never stay there again and have written a letter to Renaissance management at the corporate level letting the know the hotel is a bad example.

Room Tip: Book at the Marriott on airport ground or stay at another hotel. The employees at this hotel seem t...

Had a fantastic dining experience at the Renaissance Newark Airport hotel restaurant. The pork chop was out of this world and what a diverse and friendly staff. Got a chance to met the Chef - Prince Akuaky (ask him to make his special sauce) - waiter Hector Foreno and the Food and beverage supervisor Xyrill Ferriot. Great food, convenient location and outstanding staff - what more can anyone ask for
