We were looking for a hotel that was within 30 minutes of the shore and decided to stay here because of the positive reviews, and we're glad we did. Overall, we had a great experience except for a few minor things.
We've stayed in everything from budget-priced hotels to 5 star resorts, but we generally like to stay in mid-level hotels because we're usually not in the room much during the day, but at night we want a clean comfortable place to relax and wind down.
My wife & I slept in the king sized bed, which was very comfortable, and our son slept on the sleeper sofa, which he said was very comfortable. The king bed had at least 5 pillows, and the sleeper sofa was partially made with a fitted sheet. The rest of the bedding was in the closet, and we made it ourselves. I'm not sure if the hotel would have made the bed for us if we asked, but it was simple and easy to do ourselves.
The TV was a flat panel, around 30 inches I'd guess, with a whole host of cable channels. The room overall was very clean, but there were some nicks and scratches on the coffee table, which was surprising since the hotel is so new.
One thing we appreciated a lot was the shower & toilet being separate from the sink/dressing area. This made getting ready in the morning very easy. Our room only had a shower and no tub, which seems to be the trend and something that is fine for us.
Our room had a kitchen, with a sink, stove top, dish washer, full fridge and microwave plus a 4 person table. When not in sleeping mode, there is a full size sofa, coffee table, desk and TV stand.
Things that were important to us are a pool and an included breakfast. The pool was really clean and the perfect temperature. The breakfast was basic but offered everything we could want. There were make your own waffles, bagels and English muffins as well as hot and cold cereal, fruit and eggs and sausage. We never saw bacon, which would have been great, and the toaster didn't work. It just barely got warm, which made for unappetizing English muffins, but I was hungry and ate them anyway.
The hotel doesn't offer it on the weekend, but during the week (not sure the exact days), dinner is included with your stay, which would be a nice add-on, depending on what food they offer.
The lobby was simple yet pretty. It wasn't on, but there there was a fireplace and several chairs and sofas for sitting. In addition to the pool, there is a workout room, which had 3 or 4 different machines. There is also a snack room with candy, drinks and frozen meals, which can be cooked in your room.
Outside the hotel offers some neat things not normally found at hotels in this price range. There was a full tennis court, which also served as a basketball court, but the coolest thing was an outdoor sitting area with gas grills. I could only imagine being on vacation, picking up a steak at the grocery store across the street and cooking it on the grill, enjoying a homemade dinner away from home.
The hotel offers free wi-fi, which I think was from AT&T because our cell phones connected to it automatically when we entered the building. Speeds weren't amazing, but they were pretty fast and saved on cellular data.
Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely come here again and would recommend it to our friends.
