“Very Comfortable Beds!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2008

We originally checked into the holiday inn next door, what a dump that pplace was. i was in such a desperate need for a good night sleep, I said, no matter the price, I am staying next door. Te lobby was nice, the staff wa snice, the pool was nice, and when we got to our room, it was clean, cozy, big, great bathroom, great comfort select bed where you dial the firmness of the mattress, quietish A/C for the under the window type, and even with a wedding right below us, not soo loud. SOOO much better than the holiday inn and extended stay next door, we checked in and out of both, there is a sheraton across the street, but didn't check it out, but no need, everything here is very nice for the price. Paid 84 a night on a weekend with AAA discount for a wonderful room. ABSOLUTELY reccomend in this area if need to be in the raritan convention area. Great job hilton garden inn!

I stayed for two nights at the HGI for a business trip. When in the area previously, I have stayed at the Courtyard down the street, but it was booked this time, so I decided to try the HGI. I was very pleasantly surprised by the quality of this HGI.

The HGI is very conveniently located nearby to both the GSP and the turnpike. There aren't a lot of restaurants convenient to the HGI (it's in an extremely large light industrial park). However, do try Harold's next door at the Holiday Inn. The portions are enormous (it styles itself as a NY Deli). It is truly an experience.

The check-in was smooth with no problems.

I had room service delivered my first night. The food arrived quickly and was really pretty good. The glass of wine was enormous and much appreciated.

They've upgraded their beds and bedding, and the bed was very comfortable. The room itself is like other HGI's, but it's nice to have the microwave and fridge. I liked the large Neutrogena toiletries in the bathroom. The bathroom itself is rather small, but very well lit. The room overall was spotless and just fine for the business traveler.

The workout room was exceptional for this type of hotel. There was a pool and jacuzzi. There are two ellipticals, a treadmill, and a bike - a very nice selection. There were also three weight machines, plus lots of free weights. The towels were stocked daily. A very pleasant surprise overall.

And, yes, there is loud music piped in near the elevator. In any hotel, though, it's always a good idea to try and get a room away from the elevator. This hotel being no exception.

I think the Courtyard may have lost my business in Edison, because I will definitely go back to the HGI on my next trip.

Very friendly staff, in a business / industrial park, pleasant environment...however, walls are very thin and by all means, stay in rooms away from the elevator as they pump in music all day and night in the area of the elevators and if you have a room close by you will hear it. I've stayed at this hotel many times and during the holidays it was loud and had to change my room away from the elevator.

The Hilton Garden Inn was perfectly adequate for purposes of a nearby business meeting. The rooms was very typical of the chain (pretty basic furniture with bland art) but the flat screen television was a nice, updated touch. For its size the room was a bit dark and another lamp or two would have been appreciated.

If I was in the area, I would probably stay here again - it seems to be a good value for the money in the area.

I stayed in Edison the night before flying out of JFK, as it's considerably cheaper than staying in Manhattan, and I hoped more comfortable than Newark.

The Garden Inn is good about providing a modern room, with the comfortable bedding, the stylish furnishings and above-average entertainment options. These were all here, and the staff was outgoing and helpful.

Unfortunately, this hotel wasn't comfortable. The rooms didn't smell very clean ... the carpet was ancient. I could hear my neighbors through the walls. Something in the bed made me itch; I don't like thinking about what that could be. And the hall was constantly filled dinner trays, which made the entire place smell like stale food. This is easily remedied, and at a hotel where many people eat room service, it ought to be.

I have stayed at this hotel on several occasions and have always been very pleased! The hotel is attractive, clean, and has a friendly staff. There is a comfortable lobby where you can sit at night and have a drink from the small bar. The rooms are nice although the bathrooms are small. However, I don't think you will find any nicer in the area. The hotels offers a small breakfast buffet that is good but there are other hotels and choices in the area if you desire. Right next door is an amazing deli - Harold's!!
I am from this area originally and this hotel is a good central location for the area. It is near Menlo Park Mall and Woodbridge Center. Metuchen is a very nice old fashioned town with a nice main street.
If you have business or visiting the area, this is a very good choice. I think it is the best in the area,
