My family and I were relocating and needed a place to stay where we would have the freedom to leave when we wanted. This seemed like a good idea, but we soon found out this Extended Stay is one that should be avoided like the plague. Not only are the fire alarms constantly going off with no explanation, their shuttle service is chronically late. If you are counting on their shuttle to get to public transportation for your commute, be ready to explain to your boss why you have been arriving late. The cleaning service is sub-par at best. If you enjoy reliable hot water for your morning showers, again you may want to avoid this establishment as the hot water heater went out twice during our 1 month stay. Also, a word of caution during Jets/Giants football games; the hotel manager sells parking spots with little regard for their guests’ needs.
The last and most egregious failure on the part of the hotel was their response to an adverse weather event. The day before hurricane Sandy struck we were notified, with a sheet of paper being slid under our door, that the hotel is not equipped with any supplies to help their guests in case of power, water outages etc. Keep in mind this notification was the day before the storm was predicted to make landfall and all of the stores had been picked clean of supplies. When I attempted to reach the area manager, Neil [--], I got his voice mail and did not receive a call back. The management team recommended that we not stay in the rooms, but they did not provide us with any information on where the shelters are located. This is the first time my family and I have stayed in a hotel where we were made to feel like our safety and wellbeing were none of their concern. That service would probably be provided with an additional charge. For $2,200 a month, we expect the hotel management team to at least act like they care about the wellbeing and comfort of their “valued” guests.

Thank you for taking the time to write us a review, I wanted to take a moment to personally respond. I am sorry to hear that we did not meet your expectations. Services such as shuttle services are offered as added amenity, and are dependent on many variables, such as traffic and road conditions. We can in no way be time specific, although we do our best to accommodate every request from our guests. I will relay your comments about the cleaning services to our staff. I am sorry we did not meet your expectations.

Unfortunately, during the last week of October and first week of November, the North East was struck by Hurricane Sandy. As a result many parts of New Jersey, including the Meadowlands, lost power and were flooded. Although we are not designated as a shelter and cannot be responsible for loss of electricity, we did everything possible to maintain operations and care for our guests. We even provided a generator to power the whole hotel, while other hotels in the area remained dark. We could not send notification to our guests until we knew for sure what impact the Hurricane would have. Once we determined that we may have issues, we immediately communicated that to you. As we do not provide supplies such as groceries, batteries & bottled water to you on a regular basis, we suggested you stock up on those, as it is ultimately the responsibility of each individual to decide where and how they will stay during such conditions. This is not a common event in our area.
I am sorry that you experienced the Hurricane conditions with us, and I thank you again for providing us with your feedback.
