My husband and I loved Sorrento Ristorante on our first visit last November. We loved the food, the service and the ambiance. We went recently with another couple and it was as if we were in a different place. Yes the food was excellent, but the service was quite poor. We waited for two hours to get our entrees! After dessert every single member of the wait staff disappeared for 30 minutes. Apparently there was some confusion with another table that was paying with a gift certificate that no one knew how to handle. We spent 4 hours altogether in the small room on the right, with way too many tables crammed like sardines. Certainly more than there should have been for elegant dining and for the price paid. My chair kept hitting the chair of the lady in back of me. If anybody had to go to the bathroom, everybody had to stand up. And because of the crowding you could not appreciate the tasteful decor of the place. I think that they accepted everyone who called in asking for a 7-7:30 reservation, instead of staggering the diners. Their staff and kitchen was simple unable to keep up with the number being served. I don't know if there was a change in management that caused these problems, but unfortunately we may never go back there.
