Years ago my ex-husband and I tried this place and didn't like and never went back though we lived in the same town.
Fast forward years ahead and they built an elevated deck which a guy friend took me there for a birthday and it was really good. Since then I have gone many times with
friends & family, both inside and out.
Two of my friends (one guy and one gal) decided to go there for lunch and sat on the elevated deck. We were all going to get a glass of white wine and the guy suggested 'maybe we should get a bottle.' The waiter suggested 'Santa Margarita at 25.'
So we ordered that. We all enjoyed our lunch and it was alot of laughs until the bill came and we discovered the wine was charged at 45 dollars. We asked the waiter about it and said '25 was a half bottle.' We all said 'you didn't say that!' Finally,
we asked for the manager.
He proceeded (in front of maybe a table of 8 others) to argue with us about the cost of the wine, even rudely bringing the wine list to 'show us it says so in the list.' We said 'your waiter told us the price, he didn't specify it was a half bottle.' He finally agreed to charge us the quoted price but really gave us a hard time about it.
Later, after paying and away from there, we also realized that one gal was DOUBLE charged for her lunch 'special.' The waiter had asked if she wanted a 'dinner portion'
and she actually pointed to the item on the 'daily special' and said that is what she wanted!!! How could this be misinterpreted?
The guy called and talked to the manager who agreed to give the money back
and our friend stopped and got the money the next day. The manager, he said, was very nice about it. But with TWO mistakes he really should have given him a
gift card for at least 25 dollars and invited us all to 'come in again.' He didn't.
This was a major turnoff after a nice afternoon. This restaurant has built a big addition and we all had the same thought: are they doing such unpalatable tactics
to pay for the addition?
Frankly, it will be a year before I go into this place again and I will carefully check the bill THEN. I don't think the others plan to go back for quite awhile either.
