Great steaks. Great lambchops. Splendid crabcakes. Fine prime rib.
Have been going here for years. Open on the weekends. The people next to you in jeans own a ten million dollar race horse-mink and manure-lots of old money here, but no pretentions. The oxymoron is that this is horse country in New Jersey-you're thinking Newark and we are thinking 47 square miles of standard bred farms. The food is old fashioned but cookied with skill. The drinks are potent and huge. The rugs need to be changed. They were old 25 years ago. The salad bar is the same as it was 25 years ago. Go for a steak and a martini. Ask for a table by the window and watch the sun set on the lake. Dream that your horse just won.(Bar scene is different.)The service is young.
