My family and I stayed at Camp Taylor this past weekend and hiked up to check out the wolf preserve. We saw a few wolves at first which was pretty cool and my 3 year old son started howling like the wolves. Shortly thereafter, a woman who worked there started screaming at him saying that he was going to scare the pups. She went on with a completely hostile and belligerent attitude and claimed that there were warning signs posted everywhere advising not to howl. Upon a closer look this turned out to be an outright false statement as the signs only addressed not feeding the wolves or throwing objects into the pen area. After an experience like that it just felt like such an unfriendly place especially for children and I wasn't about to spend my hard earned money on the tour. I would advise other parents with small children to do the same.

My response to this review is its a little exaggerated. anyone who know us knows we would not scream or be belligerent to a 3 yr old for joyfully howling at the wolves, that's just a little much! But when it gets excessive and loud and irritating to the animals something will be said. I am sorry you missed the posted signs on the walk from your campsite to the preserve asking you be quiet and respectful as you are visiting the wolves in their home and to stand outside and scream and howl at them will stress them. you are also given our paper when you check in at the campground ( a separate business) with our rules to follow if you are visiting the preserve and on it says the same thing, sorry you missed that too. I will not apologize for you being asked to stop doing something that stresses our animals. Most businesses will say the customer comes first, but here, the protection of our animals comes first and if you are doing something that upsets them we will ask you to stop. plus you were not our customer just someone trying to see the wolves for free and if you are not a parent who will teach your child respect of animals we would rather not have you visit.
