We have been to IndeBlue about five times now, and we have enjoyed the food and the service. IndeBlue is a bit of a hike for us, but lately we have happened to be near Collingswood more often.
The portions on their fish dishes are much more generous for the same price as another Indian Restaurant which we frequent. The paneer, which the chef's wife says he makes fresh every day, is excellent. The Tandoori chicken is also a very good value. However, the mixed grill at $20 is a even better value. I took home half of my entree for another night. I enjoyed sampling the chicken and the mini-lamb chops that were part of the grill. They will spice the food from mild to hot. I order mine medium, and my husband orders his medium+.
Among my favorites are the soups. Every month, the chef has a special seasonal menu along with the regular menu. June was cold beet soup--beautiful to look at and delicious to taste. My next soup was the cold tomato-cucumber. Both had a definite spice kick at the end. For September, it is hot corn soup. Some of the specials entrees can be pricey. However, I did enjoy the seafood entree with the udon noodles. A bit of a treat!
For us, the verdict is still out on the desserts. We have tried some of the ice creams (mango and fig), and they seem overly creamy and sweet. We have also tried some of the sorbets. The pomegranate was excessively sweet. Then we ordered banana/orange/mango, but what we received just had none of those tastes. We didn't like the sorbet at all and just left it. The chef's wife realized the server had given us blood orange sorbet, as they were out of that flavor. She took it off our bill and apologized for the error.
We definitely will be back to sample some new specials as well as items from the regular menu.
