“Clean, convenient and in a good location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2010

I would stay again. Price was reasonable, it was clean. Breakfast was limited to waffles, bagels, cereal, eggs, coffee, juice etc. The breakfast room was never crowded. Clean, convenient location to go into NY City. Caught the train at Delawanna train station the 1st day. The 2nd day we took the bus at Clifton Commons .Be careful when parking at CC, part of the parking lot is available until 10 PM and one part is shared by the Mall and needs to be moved by 6:45 or it could be towed. We were not thank goodness. The bus from the stop 2/10 mile away was our favorite way to get from the hotel into the city. It cost $11.00 roundtrip but was less stressful, we walked to the stop, about 5 minutes away. We will definately go back there next year.

We had a very large and comfortable room, with kitchenette. (Considering the great space in the room it is surprising that the hotel refused to supply a small table and a couple of chairs to eat at.) The distance of the rooms from the front desk was not a problem during our stay, for there are quite a few outside entrances (key card required). Access by car is very convenient. There are several small shopping malls nearby. The nearest major shopping mall, with department stores, is less than ten minutes away on the highway. Breakfaxt was generous. The elevators needed some upkeep work.

For the dati traveller: Bagels and waffles, spreads, had hekhsher, all served on disposable dishes. The many shuls of Cliftn/Pasaic are a five-minute drive away, as are several glatt-kosher eateries, and supermarkets with kosher bakeries. The hotel is outside the eruv. Doors open with key-cards. (We were not there for shabbat, and do not know what solutions are available.)

Rooms are newly renovated and stylishly decorated. Spacious. The free breakfast did not disappoint. We got a great rate and will be back to this location. The only drawback was the very TINY fitness center.

We had no choice but to book here as family event was in the nearby Essex county area. Didn't want to book at the HoJo on Route 3, Clifton because we've been there and it can be a dump. I am familiar with the area since grew up nearby.

Cons: The hotel is a huge complex: several floors, four different wings. You need a map to get to your room. Husband joked that he felt he had to go back all the way to Ohio to get all the luggages. Make sure you are taking the right elevator to your floor because somehow the hallways of floor wings don't connect to each other. Because of the immensity of the complex, safety is an issue: you might not know it but it is next to a shopping mall (Target, AMC theaters, Barns and Noble, food stores, etc), on Route 3 which is the road to NYC, so please be considerate and close the side entry doors behind you. The hallways needed vacuuming, faucet to shower dripping, black goo coming out of the drain, cheerio cereal on the floor, our room faced a concrete wall of the adjacent wing. Breakfast was awful.

Pros: Price was right at $67 per night, can't go wrong esp. when Manhattan is approx 10 miles away. Near a bus stop to NYC, two blocks south of the hotel on Kingsland across from Target (NJ Transit Bus stop). The pool area was huge.

But will stay here again considering our HoJo alternative. As a matter of fact will be there for Thanksgiving.

I was very happy with our stay at this hotel. It was a little hard to find as the sign is not very tall, it is at the bottom of the hill next to the Shell gas station. There is shopping and restaurants next door. We were there to visit a very sick relative so it was not a happy trip. The bed was so comfortable it was like sleeping in my bed at home. If you want a fridge in your room you have to ask, no charge that was the only draw back that it was not in the room already. The breakfast had a wide variety of food and was well stocked. The front desk clerks were able to give great driving directions. I called from the highway for directions to the hotel coming in the first night and the desk clerks directions made it easy to find. It was quiet and very clean.

Stayed for two nights. Rooms very nice. large and clean. Bathroom small but serviceable. Staff were great. Bus into NYC just blocks away. Takes 20-30 min into Port Authority bus terminal. Safe area to walk in. Got a great rate on Hotwire.
