“Worst bed ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

This used to be a nice hotel few years ago with a different management.
I had the worst bed ever. The beds are supposed to be adjustable but mine was broken: half bed was sort of a sole, the over half an over inflated hill! I could not sleep at all.
Miserable breakfast.
I would not recommend it even if there are not many alternatives nearby.

Spent christmas holiday here with my family, well between here and New York...the room was spacious...clean...LOVED THE SLEEPER BEDS and continental breakfast every morning...it has a shuttle that took us to airport and train station and picked us back up which helped with saving costs...walking distance from eateries and over the bridge there's a shopping plaza with more convenience stores and eateries....the staff were 'ok' but didn't have much interaction with them as I spent most of the time enjoying the bed :).

We plan on visiting again sometime!

We arrived early afernoon before regular check-in time, altough we would have understood that no room would be available for the next couple of hours the receptionist called housekeeping in orer to prepare us a room on the desired highest floor, while we had to wait a short while we were offered complimentary coffee which was a nice touch for a warm welcome.
We were also given a discount coupon for the independently owned onsite restaurant, unfortunately we made the mistake of eating there... NOT really a big succes. Also for breakfast everything went chaotic in the onsite restaurant, but it was complimentary so we better not complain about that, and honestly there were plenty of choices. So despite of the limited seating and staff who diddn't seem to know how to organize everyting, it was OK.
We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to Newark and it's attractive rates, all in all it was fair value.

The actual name of this hotel is Hotel Executive Suites. The hotel is situated about 20 minutes south of Newark Airport (EWR). My wife and I stayed there in March, 2013 after a very long flight from South America. We checked in at 12:30 am, and were pleased at the warm and prompt service we received from the front desk. We were shown to our room, a comfortable double queen unit with all the amenities of a typical businesspersons' hotel. Even though we did not use our WIFI connection very much, the connection appeared to be fast and reliable.

The hotel is right next to the New Jersey Turnpike, so try to get a room in the back to help minimize the noise. Even though the hotel appears to be situated in a conveninet, easy-to-find location, our GPS navigator routed us down US 1-9 instead of the turnpike from the rental car lot. After a few inconvenient turns and backtracks we arrived at 30 Minue St in Carteret.

The rooms were clean and well-maintained. Our double queen beds were among the most comfortable hotel beds we have ever slept in. Each bed has a control for a built-in massager, and mattress hardness. Since we were dead-tired, we did not take the time to explore all the options on the bed, and fell asleep almost immediately. We slept comfortably (and soundly) and woke up at 6 am feeling refreshed.

Based upon my recent experience at Hotel Executive Suites, I would recommend this hotel. I paid a discounted AARP rate of $89, and with taxes the final ammount came to $102.

Room Tip: Get a room in the back to minimize noise from the NJ TPKE.

If you are looking for a potential unrestful night, this hotel will be a great candidate.

This is my first review on tripadvisor, unfortunately it has to be an unpleasant review.

What happened to us was that around 5AM, we were waked up by a consistent alarm beeping from the adjoining room.

10 minutes later, we called front desk, the lady from front desk said there is no way she could come over and find out what was happening in the adjoining room as she was not supposed to leave the front desk. But she promised to make a call to that room to ask them to turn the alarm off.

5 minutes later, no ring tone, we suspect there was no phone calls had been made, so we called front desk again. She said there was no one picking up the phone in that room. And she did not know if that room has been checking out or not, really????

I tried to knock the door of the adjoining room, but no responses at all. 10 minutes later, as the alarm beeping was driving us crazy, we had to call front desk one more time asking for help. And thank god, this time she offered the hand by agreeing on coming over and checking that room.

5 minutes later, someone entered the room and the alarm beep ended.
Maybe others could still got asleep after being tortured by the alarm beeping for 30 minutes but we could not, thanks Radisson Hotel Carteret for rudely ignoring the feeling of your customers, I will definitely recommend you to my enemies.

Just to be fair, the room is clean and the breakfast is good.

Room Tip: Do NOT choose the adjoining rooms if you are booking it separately, or at least at some ear bugs on...

This is now called Hotel Executive Suites. We stayed here for 4 nights and it was a fantastic experience. The room and bathroom were really clean. The staff are helpful. The folks at the front desk are professional and among them Felix stands out. They have a good shuttle service to Train and Bus station. Though the location seems odd, its very close to some good affordable restaurants and shopping centers. I would recommend this hotel to anybody and families in particular. Do not go and stay in Manhattan, stay in this Hotel and use the NJ trains, it works really cheaper

We had planned to stay here for one night on each end of our vacation. We chose this hotel for the proximity to the airport and also because it wasn't the most expensive and it wasn't the cheapest rate; so, we did not have unrealistic expectations, or so we thought. However, we were so disappointed! Staff was very inexperienced and did not seem professionally adept, especially when it came to explaining the shuttle to and from the airport. The shuttle was not available as early in the morning as we needed it, so we paid for a cab. This was never explained to us. And we then were told for the return trip to call when we landed and in 15 minutes the shuttle would arrive, that it ran every half hour or so and wouldn't be a problem. Well, I called the day before our flight and booked the shuttle for 9:30pm and again was told that it would be no problem, that I could just call when we landed. Well, it's 10:39pm now and the shuttle just picked us up a few minutes ago. The hotel maintenance man is driving an unmarked van that we were probably foolish to get in! When I called earlier to speak to a manager, I was told that he was off for the night and unavailable and that the maintenance man would have to pick us up but that due to maintenance issues he was running late. In addition, the young woman at the desk was unclear as to where we needed to meet the shuttle - You actually have to take the Airtran shuttle in Newark to P4. The maintenance man/shuttle driver said that this always happens! WILL NEVER stay here again or recommend this hotel to anyone!
