“Good alternative to the beach!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

Sometimes you just need a little time away from the chaos of the boardwalk and then ocean, this is the place to be. Not only is it free of charge but they have a ton of exhibits! The zoo is set up throughout the woods so for a good part of it you are in the shade which is nice. It is very stroller friendly, we have been going for years and will be back again!

“Wonderful Zoo!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

You can't go wrong with a visit to the Cape May County Zoo.

There are quite a nice variety of animals to enjoy; we especially loved the giraffes and the adorable snow leopards. The zoo is laid with good signage so it's easy to find all the exhibits. There are plenty of benches and shade so walking isn't too difficult. The park is also very clean. The best part is it's all free - just give a nice donation. Parking is free as well.

“Great zoo....and you just donate whatever amount you wish for an entrance fee.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011

We visited this zoo with an eleven-year-old and sixteen-year-old. They both enjoyed it, as did the adults. The only things that could've made it better would have been if there were less people there and if it was set up differently so you didn't have to backtrack to see everything. All in all we had a great time, seeing a variety of animals.

“Beautifully landscaped”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 16, 2011

This zoo is free but accepts donations to help feed the animals. The park has playground, picnic areas, and trails, all wonderfully landscaped. There are bathrooms, a snack shack and gift shop.

“One of the best zoos you will ever see!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2011

As a New Yorker, I have been to the Bronx Zoo several times and although it is much bigger with more attractions and animals, it has nothing on the Cape May County Park & Zoo! This zoo can easily be seen in about 3 hours where as the Bronx Zoo cannot possibly be seen in a full day! As an animal lover, I really like how the animals have a lot of room to roam which more closely mimics their natural habitat. It is also very clean, well maintained and it appears that the animals are all taken taken care of properly. Their policy of not allowing you to bring any food into the zoo shows that they are truly concerned about the animals welfare. Other zoo's should follow their example and model theirs based on this design & plan. Since the zoo charges no admission, I was more than happy to provide a voluntary donation for the upkeep of this wonderful zoo. This is a must see attraction if you plan to be in the Cape May area!
