First class, unique, wonderful, location, location, location!... Chilling and cocktails in the fabulous Brown Room (the living room of Cape May). Breakfast in front of the fire in The Blue Pig. Music and dancing in the Boiler Room . Front entrance at The Mall - back lawn area at the beach. Dinner outside weather permitting. Wonderful spa and shops. Exceptional staff. There is nothing Congress Hall does not offer you. Pamper yourself!

Room Tip: Town view is as charming as each view. You cannot go wrong.

We assembled a few couples and young kids for a weekend stay. The vibe and energy at Congress Hall was high and the Christmas decor and celebrations in the hotel and the shopping district a block down the street wonderful. Cape May and Congress Hall showed well. The weekend succeeded in being great for both kids and adults. Congress Hall has all of the basic elements of a resort wrapped housed in a period hotel. This is a great place to enjoy a holiday weekend in Cape May.

Our second stay at Congress Hall for the Thanksgiving holiday. If you prefer the glitz and shine or modern hotels perhaps this isn't the hotel for you. Congress Hall has a long, rich history and we find the fact that it is an old hotel very appealing. Of course, the plumbing is modern but the floors are all uneven and the doors don't stay shut or open which makes us laugh. It is very well maintained, however. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and the maid comes in twice a day unless you state otherwise. The view of the ocean from the fourth floor is amazing so be sure to ask for that when you reserve. Also, you can ask for the "Rise, Shine and Relax" package which includes a $20 daily voucher for breakfast at The Blue Pig right in the hotel. The Blue Pig serves lunch and dinner as well but with we like to visit the many fine restaurants that Cape May has to offer.

The hotel is very busy during Thanksgiving with lots of families with young children as the Winter Wonderland activities begin the day after. This adds to the festive feeling. The Brown Room has many sofas, leather chairs, wood burning fireplace, and a bar. There is also a complimentary copy of the NY Times delivered daily.

There are also a few shops in the hotel that carry a small selection mens and women's clothing, another jewelry and handbags and one with home accessories. Tommy's Folly has a coffee bar and sells sandwiches and soup, newspapers, candy, trinkets and hotel themed t shirts etc. Fun stuff.

There are many fine restaurants within walking distance of the hotel and the concierge will be happy to recommend them. Tisha's, The Ebbitt Room and the Mad Batter are just three.

The staff is very friendly and professional and very willing to insure your visit is pleasant. We booked another room for next year before we left. So we will be going for our third Thanksgiving in a row. I guess that says it all as for how much we enjoy staying there.

Room Tip: Fourth floor ocean view rooms are the best.

This hotel is just beautiful. During Christmas time it is a winter wonderland complete with a 1,000 things to do with the little ones and a nice cozy fireplace to settle in and have drinks for the adults. Dinner at the Blue Pig is always good and the pub is always crowded but expected this time of year. The hotel is historic so very old, but in general well kept.

Our children gave an overnight stay at "Congress Hall", including dinner for our birthdays. The hotel was decorated beautifully for Christmas. We had dinner(excellent) in front of the fireplace. The bar area was jumping and they had a beautiful Christmas Tree in the room where some people were singing Christmas carols.

We did not stay at the Congress Hall when we visited over Thanksgiving, but it looked like a very happening place and a place we might stay at in the future.

What was super was that they have the front lawn decorated for the holiday season as a Winter Wonderland. They have a beautiful Carousel for the children to enjoy and a train with elfs that families could take a ride on around the property. Each of these rides were $3.00, but great fun. They also have these wonderful candy cane tents set up and each tent had wonderful merchandise for purchase at reasonable prices. This was so well organized and the staff who worked it were very personable. This was really enjoyable. Great job!

Stayed here for a conference for two nights and found the area to be lovely. The hotel itself is nice but it's old, plain and simple. The windows in my room would not close all the way so I heard the wind and waves all night (which was fine). The floors in the room, entry hall and bathroom were all uneven. The most noticeable was taking a shower: somehow water pooled in one corner of the slanted bathroom floor and then slowly ran off through the cracks. The bar area with fireplace was lovely and the staff were very friendly. Just know - this is an OLD building.
