My boyfriend and I spent a week over the summer in the beautiful town of Cape May. We chose the Queen Victoria from both reviews on TripAdvisors, as well as from word of mouth, and we were definitely not disappointed.
Room:
We stayed at the Prince Leopold room which is located in the House of Royals which is across the street from the main house. The room was located on the 3rd floor and was quite spacious. For being in the heart of Cape May, the inn was very quiet and private. Our room had a very comfortable bed, nice natural light, and beautiful Victorian decor. Upon inspection of the bathroom, we were pleasantly surprised by a flower floating in the toilet. We were always taken care of by the staff, as our room was cleaned two times a day and replenishments of fine soaps were always given.
Breakfast:
Every morning we woke up to a delicious breakfast. There was always a spread of fresh/ homemade granola, fruit, cereal, breakfast breads, muffins, coffee, and a variety of teas. There was also a hot breakfast casserole every morning (breakfast was so good we bought the Queen Victoria cookbook). We always made it a point to eat outside on the porch which was a wonderful way to start every day.
Parking: Please note that to no fault of their own (they are located in the center of town), parking at the Queen is an adventure. Prepare to spend a couple of minutes looking for a place to park. We usually found free parking on the side streets, and then took a nice 2-3 block stroll back to the Queen (which was actually a nice relaxing walk where we got to see some of the other beautiful inns in the area).
Things to Do in Cape May:
The beach was about 2 blocks away, and requires you to purchase beach passes for the duration of your stay. The Queen provides chairs and umbrellas for guests (but we brought our own). The beach itself was nice (a little rocky in some points compared to the beaches at Wildwood Crest). There was plenty of shopping to do in Cape May and great restaurants. Everything was within walking distance to the Queen which was very convenient (there was even a grocery story within walking distance). We also went on a carriage ride one evening which was a perfect way to end an evening. We learned a lot about the history of the town and almost felt like we were back in time.
Notable Restaurants:
Hotdog Tommy's (located on Jackson Street) an amazing hot dog place that you have to try. We picked up a couple of hotdogs and brought it back to the Queen to eat on the porch (as there is no place to sit down and eat at the stand). It was a great lunch!
Lucky Bones: A great place to eat pizza. Make sure you go early, as this place tends to get crowded after 5:30.
The Lobster House (outside): We ate here a couple times at the fisherman's wharf. We ate fresh seafood next to fishing boats docked on the pier. Great atmosphere. This place also gets crowded, so make sure you get here early. You do have the option of eating inside, but service sometimes is slow and the food is double the price. Eat on the pier, its a great atmosphere and excellent food.
This was a wonderful stay. If you want a great experience at a seaside town, look no further than the Queen at Cape May.
Room Tip: Prince Leopold room is spacious and quite, located on the 3rd floor in the House of Royals (across t...

I'm so glad that you're still remembering your summer visit to The Queen Victoria so fondly during a cold January weekend! You should seriously consider doing reviews professionally, as you really covered all the bases with yours.
I'm pleased that you enjoyed your visit so much. It sounds like you really explored Cape May and took advantage of all our beautiful seaside village has to offer. You guys will have to start planning a return trip, as there are still a lot of restaurants for you to experience. I hope we do get to see you again soon.
