“Best B&B in Cape May!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2011

This was the second year my husband and I stayed at the Mason Cottage for our anniversary getaway. As usual, Patti exceeded our expectations by providiing yet another wonderful stay. Patti always has awesome breakfasts with beautiful presentations as well as wonderful afternoon sweet tea and desserts.

The location is 2 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from Washington Street shopping and restaurants.

Perfect place for a relaxing weekend getaway! We will be back again next year!

My husband and I went to the Mason Cottage for my birthday weekend and couldn't have been more impressed. Patti made us feel instantly welcome and provided us with wonderful suggestions for dinner and entertainment. Our room was clean, larger than I expected and had a great jacuzzi tub. The location is so close to the beach and the shops/trolley pick ups/restaurants that it really can't be beat.

Breakfast was delicious both days and we even loved it so much we are making it for the holidays! Afternoon tea was such a treat and Patti treats each guest like they are the only ones. Since we went in off season it was quiet and restfull, but would be perfect in the summer as well. Walked two blocks to the spa and enjoyed some relaxation. We will be coming back to stay here the next time we visit Cape May!

My husband and I are expecting a baby in June and wanting a quiet relaxing weekend away and that is exactly what we got! Patti was awesome and we couldn't have asked for more! Upon our arrival we were shown to our room and unfortunately I had booked a room that was pretty small and had only a full size bed. Being 7 months pregnant that wasn't going to work. We asked Patti if we could switch rooms and she did NOT hesitate at all to make us more comfortable! We love our room and Patti is an awesome cook! The food was excellent! We would definitely go back and recommend to our friends :)

This was our second stay at the Mason Cottage. It is located just a block from the beach and just a short walk from the restaurants and shops of Cape May (we were pleasantly surprised to find so many of them open out of season). In the summer you can even sit on the porch and watch the horse and carriages go by. The building is a lovely restored grand Victorian, where tea and homemade baked goods are served to the guests every afternoon by Patti the Innkeeper in the large, high ceilinged, parlor. While the setting is grand, it is also homey with a relaxed and welcoming feel to it. Patti is a wealth of information about Cape May, and goes out of her way to make everyone comfortable. The breakfasts in the morning are fantastic, and are served in the elegant dining room, or in the summer, can be eaten out on the veranda. Our room/suite (the Decatur Suite) has a beautiful detailed Victorian decor and was very clean and comfortable. It has a large bathroom with a relaxing jacuzzi tub. One of my favorite things about the Mason Cottage is the little 24 hr gourmet coffee/tea station located behind the stairs where there is also candy, a small fridge and microwave for the guests to use.

My partner and I went to Cape May for a couple of days to get away from regular routine and responsibilities. Knowing that it was off season, we were expecting it to be low key and quiet. After much research, we selected The Mason Cottage (based on many factors, but especially good reviews from Trip Advisor).

Patti, the innkeeper, is wonderful. Our suite was ready and because it was quiet at the inn, she had our afternoon tea waiting for us in the room.

Piping hot water, great tea selections, and this being chocolate decadence season at the inn...some wonderful chocolate dipped desserts were waiting for us. Delicious.

We had very special breakfasts, made by special guest chef, Kim. Puff pancakes with berries one day and carmelized onion and jack cheese strata the next. We enjoyed playing with the Wii entertainment system in one of the common rooms and....what can I say, we just had a great time. (The jacuzzi in our suite was super relaxing.)

We plan to return and found off season to be a perfect time to really see Cape May.

Thank, Patti!!

A highly relaxing weekend stay at the Mason Cottage! We stayed at the Grand Mason Suite, which has a separate living room and a spa room! From the decadent breakfasts to the quality of our suite to the history of the inn, everything was above par. The location was great as well as it is just a block away from the beach and is a mere 3 minute walk. Recommended for anyone wishing to get away from the madness of New York city!
