I believe that any 4-5 ratings received by this place are actually written by employees because there is no way anyone in their right mind would rate this place that high......unless of course you don't mind spending a good deal of money to stay in a place that is comparable to a slum.
To begin, the carpets are dirty and smell horrid. If and when they do shampoo them, the carpets never get a chance to dry, therefore allowing mildew and mold to grow in them.
The Air conditioner unit is located in the bedroom in the back of the unit. If really warm (which big surprise, in the summer) the AC does not really make it out to the front sitting area.
Don't expect the maintenance staff or cleaning staff to actually lock your room when they are finished in there. Since this place still uses keys, it is very easy for this to happen....and it happened quite often.
Speaking of cleaning, that is something that just does not happen. In our room, we found a bobby pin and some type of chocolate candy sitting on the floor. There was also 2 inches of water sitting in the ice bucket so I can only assume the last guest had ice in the bucket that melted it was was never cleaned.
When we went, there was no TV in the bedroom but the cable box was sitting there.
The bathroom is just terrible. Tiny stainless steel sinks that look like they belong in a cruise ship bathroom.
Just hope you get cell phone service because if an emergency arises in your room, you have no way to contact the front desk or the police. Apparently outfitting the rooms with basic telephone service is asking for too much.
Hope that you don't get one of the rooms that you have to climb onto the lounger to try and fix the blinds.
Lamps also seem to be something that they decided not to pay money for, but don't fear, you have a spot light attached to the wall behind the couch.....
With all these issues in mind, I did not just sit back. I went to the front desk and complained. I took it to the top and I received a full refund for the money I paid to stay there for 2 nights.
If staying in a cheap motel is right up your alley, this is the place for you. If you expect to get a nice place in relation to the amount of money you pay, this is NOT the place for you.
This is just a sister hotel to the fancier Congress Hall and it is obvious that they do not put any money into fixing it up.
