We have stayed in 10 of the top b&bs in Cape May in the last 4 years, and this has the most beautiful porch and some of the best food. You are served Diane's innovative breakfast at your own table on this lovely porch (weather permitting) and are thankful there is no egg casserole here! The rooms are full Victorian, but spacious (and where else are you going to have a chandelier over your bed? Silver Room). The room staff is a local adult, not an overseas teen. Larry and Diane have been instrumental in starting the whole Cape May renaissance, and can tell you anything about the history of Cape May. The Inn is on Washington just steps from the mall, but quiet and shady. Parking is across the street. (See also my separate review of the restaurant)

Alexander's, Cape May's quintessential bed-and-breakfast inn, is also the home of one of the state's most elegant restaurants. Filled with Victorian antiques and Oriental rugs, it exudes a sense of gentility and serenity to a degree unequaled elsewhere in New Jersey.
