“Beachside paradise for young families”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2014

We just returned from a rejuvenating family weekend at Cape May. We stayed at the beautiful, bright and clean 931 Beach Guest House. We stayed in the adjoining rooms The Cove and Bay Meadow. We were a bit nervous about our first trip to the beach with our young 17-month-old son, but Innkeeper Liza was so very thoughtful and accommodating of our situation. There was never a moment when we didn't feel very well taken care of. The rooms were so bright and cheerfully decorated in a creative seaside motif, and my son loved crawling around the very large private balcony with its beautiful ocean views.

The close proximity of the guest house to the beach also helped take away much of the stress that comes with hauling all the accoutrement parents need for a day at the beach with young kids. We were so sad to leave and can not wait to return to 931 Beach!

Room Tip: The Cove has a huge private balcony with lovely lounge chairs and umbrella to soak in the peaceful o...

We were fortunate enough to get a beautiful room at 931 Beach Guest House for the first weekend in May. This was our choice for Cape May accommodations for our 35th wedding anniversary.

LiZa, the manager, blew us away with her exceptional service and endearing personality. A long-time resident, LiZa advised us on restaurants, events to attend, etc. I had asked her to place a floral arrangement in our room prior to our arrival, and when we opened the door to the room, we were greeted with a spotless, gorgeous room and wonderful fragrance from the flowers she provided.

The room (The Cove) faced directly onto the beach and had a massive deck with chaise lounge chairs and a table, which served it's purpose, as Liza provided a tray of breakfast goodies and a carafe of coffee every morning.

I'm not a travel writer, nor an employee of the establishment…just a very satisfied guest that will NEVER stay anywhere else in Cape May as long as we're able to visit.

Room Tip: Make sure to get one of the ocean-facing rooms… They're WELL worth the few extra $$

Ever since it appeared in 2008 (I think) the blue beach house with the lime green shutters caught my eye. I had never noticed this particular house until it was redone, and as soon as I saw it in the Summer of 2008, it became one of my favorites and has always been at the top of my list of places to stay in Cape May. It did not disappoint. From the beachy shabby chic feel, to the coziness of the room, we had a fantastic weekend. We stayed in the Cape May Diamond which was squeaky clean and had perfect ocean views, as well as, beautiful sunrise views. The room had everything we needed: a coffee maker, mini fridge and stove top. It was so peaceful to wake up early, make some coffee and sit at the windows and watch the sun rise. We will definitely be back!

We were so happy with the beach house that we are planning our trip for next year! Great location, clean and love Liza, the innkeeper who is warm and ever so accommodating. They provide ocean views, towels, chairs, muffins and more!

We stayed at 931 Beach for our first-ever Cape May vacation. The place was absolutely fantastic. First the location: Across the street from the beach with a perfect view of the ocean from the front porch. Just a few blocks from the downtown action, but far enough away that it was quiet and relaxing. Next the facility: victorian but with a beach vibe, no frou frou wallpaper, no dark rooms; everything was light, airy, spotlessly clean and comfortable. The kitchenette in the room is very convenient, the common room great for lounging, and the porch was spectacular. And the hospitality: Liza is a wonderful innkeeper, made sure we had everything we needed. We will absolutely be returning next year.

Room Tip: There are a few rooms in front with beach views and porches, but Liza says they are reserved quickly...

If you want to stay at the place where everyone else wishes they were staying, this is the place! It gets even better when you meet Liza who makes you feel like you are at your beach home away from home. Liza provided the personal touches you would have at home, like a soft blanket to take to the beach in case its a little bit chilly in the morning (my visit was in late Sept.). I would definitely stay here again next time I visit Cape May and recommend this to my friends.

Room Tip: Ocean view is the way to go.

Our stay at 931 was very enjoyable. It is a true luxury to have the view of the ocean and Liza provided everything to make our weekend pleasant. The decor and delightful and our suite was very clean and comfortable. There were beach towels, beach chairs and a light breakfast. One wish would be an ice machine.
