I stayed in the Summer Suite with my wife, on the first floor behind the dining room. While we could hear noise at times, it was the same as we'd have heard in any other room. Truth be told, it was a beautiful room and we had some great privacy in the back of the house.
The interior of the inn is unbelievable, you really have to see it in person because pictures don't do it justice. There are so many antiques that everywhere you look, you see something that will catch your eye and intrique you. It's absolutely gorgeous!
Breakfast was an omlet casserole dish one day and baked french toast the next. Both meals were very good and I heard many guests talking about the french toast especially. Tea time was nice and informal, with sweet treats to munch on and an assortment of tea. Don't let other reviewers sway you, there were at least 10 different types of tea.
The crown jewel of Windward is not the house or the food, however. It's a woman named, Sandy, who put her heart and soul into the inn for 30 years. She is the owner/innkeeper of the Windward and she is as nice a person as I have ever met. Sandy has a true passion for what she does (even after all this time) and when she talks about Cape May, you can see the love in her eyes.
Conversations with her really made the trip and both my wife and I are very grateful for all the time she took, shooting the breeze with us. I could go on and on, but I encourage you to book a room and see for yourself. You won't be disapointed in either the inn or the spectacular location directly between the mall and the beach.
