“Fantastic experience, great price”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2011

I needed a place to stay at the last minute for a great price without compromising quality. Murray and Jean did an excellent job in making this B and B place very welcoming and with a lot of history not only in the area but the house itself made my stay very enriching. i was very fortunate to have met my fellow guests and traded stories while having breakfast.

i will come back to sign the guest book next time!

You get to stay in beautifully decorated, historic rooms with modern bathrooms. Its the best of both worlds. The friendly owners greeted us with a hug. Their hospitality has us yearning to return.

You read about the floods and destruction in NJ and I was at the Llily Inn for that weekend. It rained and poured, we were safe and dry and while being entertained and calmed by our hosts. I would say that this is a great place for anything from an overnight stay for visiting or business to a wedding or celebration of any kind. Building and grounds are beautiful. Murray is entertainment and history wrapped in a delightful package. He is also the "Decreed Official Hugger" of Burlington County.

Room Tip: Each room is distinctive & beautifully furnished.

My husband and I were looking for a place to stay while traveling home from an event in New Jersey, and we are thrilled that we chose the Lily Inn in Burlington, NJ. My husband and I enjoy staying at B&B's but I must rank this one high in the entertainment category. Murray was a delight and he and his wife made every attempt to assure that we were comfortable.
The location of the B&B is on HIgh Street, in the historic section of Burlington. Just stepping out the front door assures you a beautiful view of the Deleware River.
The town of Burlington has a lot of rich history which one can follow on a foot tour via a brochure available at the Inn. Of course, with Murray being an active member of the historical society, it won't take long before you are engulfed in a conversation about the historical significance of Burlington.
Murray made reservations for dinner for us at the Cafe Gallery across the street. We sat outside on the veranda, with a beautiful view of the river, and enjoyed a superb meal.
Just a block up the street is an excellent Ice Cream Parlor with home made waffle cones being baked on site as you wait.
The house itself dates from the 1700's and has been restored in magnificent fashion. There is a lovely outside veranda as well as a garden area that the guests are welcome to use as well.
We stayed in the The Samuel Allinson Room, located in the front of the house, and overlooking the street. The room held a large 4-poster bed and came with a fireplace and closet and a private en-suite bath with a wonderful tiled shower.
The towels were fluffy, the bed was comfy, the food was yummy.
Really, can you ask for anything more?

MY wife and I, stayed at the lily's inn for our (30th) anniversary and it was very satisfying. Our expectations were well met. We had high hopes, especially, because we were greatly disappointed a few years ago when stayed at a B&B (Peralynna inn). the Lily's inn more than made up for that disaster. Murray & his wife jean were very pleasant host. the food was very tasty. Especially, because i love french toast, and the rooms are gorgeous, we would definitely recommend it for a nice quiet getaway.

What a gorgeous renovation to this 1705 historic building. The Lily Inn would make a beautiful location for a small wedding or family party, which they do host! Usually the presence of a beautiful dining room, lush fabrics and antiques makes me feel awkward about actually using the furniture in an Inn. Things are different at the Lily Inn. Murray and Eugenia take you into the kitchen to show you how to make your own tea/coffee, welcome you to use the refrigerator, provide two lounges 'completely for guest use,' and even allow small (nice) dogs. Murray and Eugenia have their own separate quarters which makes the inn feel more like your own home versus staying in someone else's space (which sometimes happens in a B&B). For car-free travelers, the Lily Inn is next to a long cycle path along the river, and one block from the Burlington light rail station (www.njtransit.com >>River Line), connecting towns between Trenton & Camden --even on Sundays-- with easy connections to Philly . The Lily Inn is a wonderful place created by two locals who wanted to preserve a historic house and create a warm meeting place for guests in town, and out of town. These two have have definitely contributed to the charm of downtown Burlington and we'll be back! p.s. don't miss the old-fashioned ice-cream parlor down the street!
