“Scary ghetto hotel”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2011 via mobile

Stayed one night, 2 rooms. Multiple problems. Again, a prepaid room so you hate to walk away; rooms filthy, blood stains on bathroom walls. Fist sized hole punched in the wall. Hoodlums on balconies, I think they are weekly stay truckers. They come & go all night. Heckle the guests as they check in. They tried to open our door. They drag hotel furniture outside to balcony and 10 of them set up camp around back of hotel. Security lever inside door snapped off in both rooms; I'm a locksmith, & know these doors have been kicked in . Bedbugs in 1 room. Poor air conditioning. Family & I got no sleep. Hoodlums up laughing & shouting explicitives thru 4 AM Sat night. Grouchy old woman at breakfast bar put food away early, snapped at us. Stale French toast set out, you have to heat it by toaster. 2 of 4 toasters broken. 1 of 2 waffle makers broken. No batter. Hotel grounds poorly kept, pool was scary, I think website pics were photoshopped, so I took some of my own; look for furniture on sidewalk and water tower view of pool. Send the Bunko squad to this place, before there's a fire or shooting!

Unfortunately we prepaid to get the great deal but the deal did not turn out so great for us. When we arrived to check in, we saw half naked men leaning over the balcony exchanging money for something ( I am sure most of you can guess!). Then we noticed a bunch of young people at the pool yelling, jumping on tables and using foul language. We had our nine year old granddaughter with us and were totally shocked. I had chosen this hotel because I had stayed there several years ago and it was very nice. Upon further inspection, we could see that the hotel was quite shabby looking. Lawn care was minimal Now we were out our prepaid money and we had to go searching for a new place to stay for our vacation. Fortunately we were able to find good hotel nearby.

First off, the floor is dirty. My kids feet were black from walking on it. While trying to sleep we kept hearing ppl knock on our door, we actually heard the door knob turn a cpl of times which freaked us out. Between the yelling, banging on walls and ppl trying to get in our room we had had enough around 3 am. We were getting woken up constantly. My husband ended up calling the office and yelling at them and telling them we wanted our money back. So at 3 am we packed our stuff, woke the kids up and drove home 2 1/2 hrs. home. WE got our money back but that was the only good thing. I've stayed at some pretty cheap hotels like Knights Inn but this is a $90 a night DAys Inn you would think this one would be nice but no it was horrible. The bathroom was dirty, the floor was dirty and it was not worth the price. Bad area too there is an adult video store right down the road. Definately do not take your kids here. It is not safe!!!!

Paid $90 for a room there..not the best area..shady looking characters staying here too. I thought it would be nice because it's a Days Inn but totally not. Don't waste your money. If this one is rated one out of two in the area I don't even want to know what the other hotel looks like. The bathroom looks like it hasn't been cleaned in weeks, I'm afraid to walk around without shoes on too. Never again!!

Stayed here while in Philly on business. Housekeeping does nothing but make beds. No changing of sheets, cleaning bathrooms, cleaning floors or taking out the trash. this is one place that you do not want to go barefoot. Some doors do not latch, we came back to the hotel late at night and our door was wide open, this door was closed and locked when we left. Safety is a major concern. When checking in they gave us keys to rooms that were already occupied, this happened twice. Part of the rooms at this hotel are rented out on a weekly basis, these people were scary. The breakfast area was dreadful! Everything was dirty. We will never stay here again. No one should

Stayed here for four nights, it was worth the cost. The rooms are clean, has every facility you will need to make your stay comfortable. Interestingly, just opposite to it is the brooklawn shopping mall a huge plus with several restaurants and fast-food joints. Satellite TV with HBO channels. You can't ask for more for this price.

No greeting at check in, given key to room, checked it out and lots of food particles in bed after pulling down blankets and sheet. Went back to office, they gave us another room. This one much better, actually had the fridge/microwave that was not in the other room but was what we originally paid for. Did we get what we paid for? No HBO as we had scheduled and paid for, No ice in any of the 3 ice machines and were told "they were working before" even though none worked from the time we got there until we left. Carpeting in room was wet and sticky to the point you had to keep your shoes on. We took the stairs after one trip up in the elevator which heavily smelled like urine. All of the outside fire bells had birds nests in them (every single one) and probably wouldn't have worked if there was a fire. No one, absolutely no one ever smiled at us or in response to our smiling, and basically made us feel like anything from checking in or asking about anything was a problem for them...The complimentary breakfast consisted of stale bread, no waffles (sign said machine broken) ants in the where the danishes were. Don't recommend this for anyone...What a shame...Have been to many other Days Inn which were up to the standards they usually have....not this one...shame
