“Fresh”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

I primarily use this for take out, and you cannot get better, fresher fish and seafood. Pete, and the rest of the staff, are friendly. I love their crab cakes, crab gumbo, they will fry me a piece of fish to take home, I am here at least once a week. Yes, the restaurant area is not the best, but, for take home, and freshness, they are terrific.

“Really Good Seafood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2013

Ordered take out. Everything was fresh. Owner actually knew what "Dry Scallops" (not processed with water plumping chemicals) were. Note to owner, inform customers that your food is not processed, is chemical free and not farm raised at the beginning of the order, not after. Yes, the prices are slightly over priced, but the food was excellent. The Kelchner's (Dublin, PA product) horseradish products are the best and available and at the restaurant. Is the owner a little quirky, yes, but, hey, who doesn't appreciate a fish monger with a couple of quirks? No rudeness about him just friendly.

“Quaint Little Place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 24, 2013

Talk about fresh, this place is a dining room attached to a seafood market! We ordered a sampler platter that wa more than enough for the two of us. The food was tasty and the service was pleasant. They don't have a liquor license but allow you to BYOB.

“Waste of Money”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We were staying in Brigantine and this restaurant was a short walk from our hotel. Plus, we had read some great reviews and we all love seafood, so we were excited to eat here. Unfortunately, it was easily the most expensive, least appetizing, and most dispapointing meal that we ate while in Brigantine. The restaurant is incredibly small and seemed quite dirty. Our server was about 15 years old and was nice, but didn't seem to have a lot of knowledge of the dishes. Many items that we were interested in ordering they were out of because they only get deliveries once a week. So much for it being fresh! We ordered a large plate of seafood that the family shared. None of it was very appetizing, especially the shrimp that tasted like they were close to spoiled. We also ordered a shrimp pasta dish that had rubbery, tough, overcooked shrimp and an extremely overpowering garlic flavor. I reallly wish that we hade saved the $100+ dollars we spent on this meal and had just ordered pizza!

“Fly infested poor service rude cook.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2012 via mobile

This was my first time at the crab shack the dinning room is about 11ft square with a 100btu window a.c that couldnt cool off a small bathroom extreamly hot. While jammed against the wall with the table pressed against me i noticed a rather large amount of flies hovering over peoples plates. Now lets get to the food the fried shrimp 30%bread crab cakes same as well pasta was ok good amount of seafood but the sauce sucked the french fries were great and prices were verry high for what your getting if you want seafood drive to A.C go to atlantic city bar and grill great place good food priced right huge helpings friendly service and no flies so you can eat with out a news paper in your. Hand.
