“Lots to do, & Restrooms too”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Lots to do, try to stay away during sports tournaments otherwise lots of open space. Nice to walk by the river ,good parking and restrooms. The amphitheater is used almost every Sunday in the summer for free concerts. Just bring bug spray.

“Nice big clean park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

Duke Island Park is a great place to have a picnic, to go for a walk, or to bring a ball to kick around or a bike to ride. It's clean and well taken care of. There is a playground area with swings and stuff for kids to climb on.

If you want to reserve a picnic here, do it FIRST thing in February because the space goes quickly. I tried to get a specific date in June for our Cub Scout picnic and I called just a few weeks after they started accepting reservations, and all the dates I wanted were already taken!

“Big Park for playing”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

This park is used by several groups to play baseball, soccer, etc. There is a lot of space. There is an amphitheater for a stage but I have never seen it used before. There is a house that is used for educational activities. All in all a great park for the area.

“Duke Island Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

Duke Island Park is a nice local park for families, sports teams, kids who enjoy swings and kiddie rides, and those who like to have BBQs. It is well manicured and very clean for the old park that it is. If in Bridgewater, and want to have a local BBQ or play with the kids for a bit, this is a great park. However, I wouldn't call it a "must-see" by any means. Very safe, clean, friendly, quiet, but several loud ethnic BBQ's and music over the summer weekends that I could live without... meaning quieter would be better company.

“Nice Park”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This is a very nice park, large, green, and lots of shade. Some picnic tables are reservable and some are first-come first-serve. A paved bike path attracts both bikers and walkers. We were disappointed that there wasn't much river view, but had a nice walk on the bike path, enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, and wished we could join some of the folks cooking on the grills. There wasn't information on hiking trails, though I saw a reference to their being there. We found a trail along the canal and used it to walk back to our parking area.
