“Fabulous”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

It's a small BYO restaurant. The food was wonderful. We tried a fish that was among the specials for the day, and some other chicken dish. Thought everything from the appetizers to the creatively-served desserts was very good.

It got very crowded around 7:30pm on a Friday. There is also a section for semi-private events.

Note that their online menu must not be kept up-to-date as things I wanted to try were not on the menu when we actually ate there.

“Great Food But Service Not So Much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2013

Girasole has been serving up great Italian food for a long time. We like it because it's a BYOB with food that's always good and a convenient location. The decor is top drawer. It always looks clean and well decorated.

The hostess was friendly and sat us almost immediately, even though the restaurant was pretty busy. The waiter came over quickly, and told us the specials. The specials change often and while a bit pricey, usually worth the extra few bucks. The waiter was pushing appetizers and seemed a bit put-off that we didn't order any.

Two of us ordered pasta dishes, one ordered Chicken Marsala from the regular menu and I ordered a Stuffed Pork Chop. Bread was served promptly, but we had to find the waiter when we needed more. Likewise, when we needed water refills - we finally found someone else to get us water. The wait time for dinner seemed quite long. When the meals came out they only brought the two pasta dishes, then 5-minutes later the other two entrees. Not serving everyone's meals at once in a restaurant always peeves me. No reason for that unless you are not organized or the server isn't paying attention. I think it was a bit of both that night.

The food was again, very good. My entree was delicious. The server never came to ask how our food was or if we needed anything. He disappeared until we were sitting for a fairly long time after finishing our entrees.

The server seemed noticeably annoyed when we didn't order dessert (made me wonder if he was on commission). He dropped off our check without another single word. I thought it was just me, but the others with me mentioned that they thought he was a bit rough around the edges. He deserved a much lower tip than we left for him.

“Our Favorite Local Restaurant”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

We have been going to Girasole for years. It never disappoints. Many times, we have gone into New York City and tried a well known (and usually expensive) restaurant, and though we may have enjoyed our meal very much, we'll often comment that as good as it was, we'd be just as happy eating at Girasole.

The dining is small and cozy. It's imperative to make reservations, especially on a weekend. My husband has had many business lunches there, and his clients have always been happy. The owners and servers are wonderful people. Many of the waiters have been there for years and it is always nice to catch up with them and chat when we go in.

The food is excellent. They have our favorite bruschetta ever! They serve this to all customers, along with bread. All entrees come with a good house salad. One of our favorite pastas is the mushroom ravioli. We have ordered many items from the menu, and have enjoyed all of them. And their cannolis are amazing!! Definitely worth a try if you like Italian food!

Girasole is a great place for couples, family, or business meals. And we have planned several family parties there as well. Great place!

“A stop worth making”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

Tripadvisor comes through again. On a business trip and looking for some comforting Italian food and Girasole fit the bill perfectly. Wait staff was excellent and very attentive. Food was delicious. Don't forget to try the desserts too. Worth the stop.
