We booked a Saturday night at the Morning Dove after reading some positive reviews here. Kim, the innkeeper, told me she was away that night for her son's wedding. We arrived around 5PM to a nicely decorated (slightly over-perfumed) lobby. A foreign speaking woman greeted us and after a little communication difficulty, she showed us to our room. It's always nice to be greeted by the actual proprietor at B&B's but I totally understood about her family engagement.
The room was clean and nicely decorated. It was a tad cramped with the queen size bed. After taking the pillows off the bed, it left even less room to move around. Not a huge deal though. The bathroom was small and basic. Shower was clean but didn't like the floor mat in it - kind of grossed us out. Also, they keep stones in the sink. This may look cool but if you think about what goes in the sink, it also seemed a little gross. Not much room for a towel rack - so they mounted a flimsy rack on the inside of the door. None of these items were major issues. The towels themselves were very soft and plush. The bed was decently comfortable although we didn't like the middle blanket - it looked like it was made of bathrobe material.
Sunday morning, I went down to investigate breakfast because our greeter the day before didn't really tell us anything. I was approached by a woman - I thought she was Kim the innkeeper but it ended up being Nicole. She was extremely nice and helpful. She let us do a late checkout from 11AM to 1230.
She also ended up taking care of us for breakfast. Again, she was super helpful and nice. Breakfast was amazing. All freshly made, great coffee and they even brought us Reese's pancakes and Grand Marnier French toast after we both ordered egg dishes. She just wanted us to try it - which we gladly obliged.
They provided us with beach passes which was very convenient.
The things I listed were minor and overall it was a great stay. I think in the end, these types of details are very subjective so someone else might be totally ok with everything.
I would stay again - maybe in a larger room next time though.
