Came into the new location today. Off season. Being a local I don't do belmar in the summer, too much jerz shore. I was sad to see vivas was gone, but happy to see 10th ave burrito was in its place, plus now they had a bar.
Interior looked good, like the outside seating for future reference ( bringing the dog) but honestly we went straight to the bar. Ordered a bloody Mary it was good, but nothing special. Next we ordered some food, nachos with chili- gigantic and oh so yummy. Fresh made chili with big chunks of braised beef and fresh jalepenos - cant forget about those homemade fried tortillas. For drinks we had the house made pineapple habenaro margarita.... Awesome! Just the right amount of heat. Oh did I mention the bartender was a doll. Very nice and accommodating. If we weren't sure of a ingredient in a drink, he gave us a taste.
Anyway back to the food...
Bf had the chorizo burrito which he says was too big, but excellent and from my observation there wasn't a morsel left on his plate... I after being stuffed silly by the nachos ordered just an app of fried catfish with the pineapple habanero dipping sauce. Still way to much, brought half of it home! Catfish was fresh, surrounding breading was light and flavorful. It was excellent. Next up another margarita for both of us. Traditional this time. No mix at 10th ave. excellent once again! All in all a great time at 10th ave. People make the place and at the end of the meal the bf and I both agreed, 10th ave had great food and good people. Oops almost forgot to mention the price. It was 65 including 6 drinks.. Amazing for belmar. Amazing for jersey!
For all the reviews I read mentioning surf taco... I loved surf taco don't get me wrong but it's not comparable. Surf taco was better before they started expanding. Their food is not as good as it used to be. Sadly.
