Spending $400 or $500 for two people on a fabulous meal with wine is one thing. Leaving a restaurant feeling like you've been ripped off is another. As a foodie who has the opportunity to dine out often I am always cautious about very expensive restaurants. My date and I were impressed with the menu and the wine list although the prices were on the high side for both. We ordered with out concern and had three courses each. The service was good but the food was not. The first course was good not great. When the second course came out the meal fell off the cliff. Her fish was over cooked to the point it tasted like a old shoe. My New York strip was tough like leather and full of pieces that were unedible. We spent about $100 on the wine which was recommended by the sommelier, it was fine, again not great. My point is however, we spent a lot of money on a meal and left feeling like we would have been better off anywhere else.
