“Great Atmosphere”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2014

We stopped in for a late drink at the bar and ordered fries to munch on. We received our order quickly. The bartender was friendly and prompt. The fries were excellent.

“Disappointing :(”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2014

Buckalews looks so promising from the outside but does not live up to its potential. The menu sounds delicious but overall did not deliver I wanted to love it but was sorely let down. Calamari was dry, tasteless and rubbery and lobster rolls were worse. The bread was inedible and the lobster was not good either. On the up side our table was very nice and our server was really sweet. When I mentioned to her that the bread was hard and suggested that she tell the kitchen she also spoke to management and had the lobster roll removed from the bill -- without my asking. Well done! Also on the positive side my husband enjoyed his mahi sandwich. All in all, I wish I could recommend but given the experience I would not return.

“Nice Place - Cold Beer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 2, 2014

Very nice looking, clean. Loved all the flags around the building outside. Service was good, food was served warm. They were out of Yeungling (on tap). It did take a while for the food to come out, and traveling with a toddler it not what we'd prefer. But the waiter was attentive & pleasant. I'd go back, but stick to the basics.

“Don't waste your time or money”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 26, 2014

Buckalews hit the trifecta tonight, cold food, crappy table and the worst service you can imagine. Our waiter was slow and inattentive, spending all of his time worrying about the large birthday party next to us. He actually seemed annoyed that we were asking him to take our order. Judging by the temperature of the food he clearly let it sit for awhile before delivering it to the table. We saw the manager walking around but she was way too interested in sucking up to the larger parties than a simple table of three. News flash - that is how you run a business into the ground. With all of the great tavern choices on LBI such as Nardi's, Kubel's, Port Hole and the Gateway to name a few, don't waste your time with Buckalew's unless you enjoy getting ripped off and annoyed. We won' t be back.

“lbi staple”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 18, 2014

Around a long time but the quality of food and services varies. For a year round place with a history, you'd think they'd have it down. Booths in the bar area are real noisy.
