“Nice campground”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 4, 2014

The staff here are very nice and it was easy to make a reservation. It's an easy campsite for inexperienced campers, as they have EVERYTHING you might have forgotten for sale in the visitor center. We stayed in the wooded area which was very pretty, though the sites are very close together and variable in size. Ours was teeny, so believe them when they say you cannot fit a larger tent than a 4-person one. It is nice that they have flush toilets, tp, hand soap, and showers available. The downside was it was noisy there. People shouted and played music late into the night.
Canoeing down the creek was definitely the highlight of our trip. The creek is beautiful and peaceful and relatively easy to navigate. Plus it could not be more convenient with pick up/drop off from the campground. We took the 3 hour trip which took us 4 hours to complete with our lunch break.

My husband and I were looking for a nice weekend getaway not far from home and we found it in Cedar Creek Campground. The first thing that impressed me was the helpfulness and friendliness of the Camp Staff, from the moment that I called to make reservations, all the way through the entire camp experience. The camp store has just about everything you need (and even some things you didn’t know you needed). The store also includes a kitchen, with a limited menu, which is perfect if you’re swimming and want something quick without the hassle of having to whip it up yourself back at your site. The pool is beautifully maintained with plenty of lounge chairs, picnic tables and two fun slides. There are playgrounds for the kids and plenty of activities if you find yourself lacking things to do. Centrally located, close to beaches, parks and shopping centers! They also offer kayak and canoe trips for the ultimate camp experience. The only drawback is the size of the trailer/rv sites; they are a bit on the small side but definitely do-able. The tent sites are bigger and well shaded. All sites include a picnic table and fire ring. We will definitely be returning!

My husband, 5 year old son and I stayed at a tent site at Cedar Creek Campground. We could not have asked for a better stay. The tent sites are big and the campground has so much to do. Let me just point out that this is a family oriented campground and it serves well. The theme for each night is centered around that premise. Also, they have an area for tent sites for adults only and that gives them privacy while enjoying canoeing and kyacking. Robert the owner is absolutely wonderful and is hands on meaning he does everything from cleaning, cooking to playing the guitar during the 7pm hayride for the kids. You will find him chatting with the guests to make sure they are happy and comfortable. I cant say enough about this place. The location is great also because you are near the bay to go crabbing, fishing boat rental ( I recommend Downes Bait and Tackle, Bayville), canoeing down Cedar Creek, and there is always some fun stuff going on in and around town. Just look it up before hand on a google search or grab the local free paper called The Islander. The pool is amazing and has great music playing at the perfect level of volume plus an outdoor snack bar. The guest that stayed during my visit which was just this past weekend, were mannerly, friendly and well rounded which makes for a much more enjoyable stay. The staff and owner keeps this place at a level of good reputation so if your looking to play loud music of any kind, stay up late and party or squeeze 50 people into a tent or RV then go some place else. This place won't tolerate that kind. We cannot wait to go back. Thank you Cedar Creek for a great stay!!!

I go at least once a year for a kayak trip down Cedar Creek. You can rent your canoe or kayak from the campgrounds and they will shuttle you to the mouth of the creek and pick you up at the end. They are the nicest people and so accommodating.

We stayed in the deluxe cabin for 2 nights. When we got there, there were spider webs all over, bugs in beds, the fire pit was not cleaned out. We had to find someone to clean it for us. It's not that bad of a place but for the money, not worth it. The only thing that was awesome was the new pool.

Overall a very nice campground. The sites are a bit small for big rigs, we are in a 40' motorhome, but we were able to back into our site, but it was a bit short. The staff was great, very helpful with directions, and advice on local things to see and do. There are a lot of seasonal campers here, with most of them back in the shaded area of the campground. We had two issues. First was the pool was closed and locked - and it is the first week of June. The second issue was the mens restroom at the clubhouse was nasty, I don't think the toilets had been cleaned for weeks, and the odor was so bad it could be smelled inside the pavilion area where the restaurant is connected. Still gearing up for their season I guess, but no excuse for not cleaning. We would stay here again if ever in the area.

Been there twice with entire family in August 2007 and 2008.
Kids were having a blast! Living in a tent, campfire every night, pool and playground, hiking, blueberry growing everywhere, and the highlight of a trip - canoeing down Cedar Creek (campground provides canoe and transportation).
Just make sure to reserve a remote tent site - far from RVs and campground headquarters, you'll sleep better.
We brought everything with us, but campground store is well stocked - you won't stay hungry.

Campground provides few options for canoeing down Cedar Creek ranging from 1-hor to 4-hour trips. Keep in mind that on a 4-hour trip you'll hit a dam on Double Trouble reservoir - do not try crossing it on a canoe, too dangerous. There is a bypass road - boats provided by campground are light enough to drag them to the safe re-entry on Cedar Creek (15 minutes tops)

Room Tip: If you are staying in a tent, choose a remote loop - far from RV sites and campground headquarters...
