“Awesome time away”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at the Mountain View Grand Resort, we just love how relaxing the resort is with all the sitting rooms and fire places with big comfy chairs and couches, the perfect place to put your feet up and read a great book. The views are amazing. Everyone that works at the resort is so nice and accommodating. I also love how the resort employs military veterans.

The staff where very helpful and great helping my husband by placing rose pedals on our bed to surprise me for our 30th anniversary and then transferring our things to the Presidential Suite so my husband could make our stay even more special. The shower and tub in that suite are amazing. Needless to say we are definitely going back again.

Room Tip: The Presidential suite if you want for a special occasion

I Love trip advisor because doing research for trips here always gets me to a great place! This is a prime example. This hotel has about the nicest view you can imagine. If you stand on the front porch, you get a 180 degree view of the White mountains. Needless to say you also get that view if you have a room in the front. I had a room in the rear and I also had a beautiful view of the mountains. The room was comfortable with a bed that soft but supports your back nicely. The room & bathroom was big enough that you didn't feel cramped that you sometimes feel in an older hotel. There is a nice gym with a good variety of equipment. The pool area is very relaxing with a beautiful mural that surround the pool. The pool is a little too small to do lap swimming. We had dinner in the wine cellar which is a real wine cellar. This is their fine dining restaurant. The food was excellent and they pay attention to little details like homemade butter and always keeping your ice water glass filled. They also have a casual dining restaurant that menu looked good but we didn't eat there. There is also a lot of comfortable areas in the lobby-lounge-library area where you can relax with a book and a cocktail. The library also has many old photos of the hotel and its history. If I had to say anything negative about this hotel is that I wish they had an I-Pod docking alarm clock so I could use it as a white noise machine! Also the restroom for the restaurant is quite a walk (but very nice!) I look forward very much to staying here again!

My husband and I traveled into New England in March and needed a place to stay for a few days between commitments. We found this hotel through an internet search, and it turned out to be even better than we hoped. First of all, the setting is spectacular -- surrounded by the White and Franconia Mtns. I would describe the hotel as elegant but casual, warm and friendly, and extremely charming. In our 2 days there, we went to two wine-tastings, saw a movie in the hotel theater, hiked through the snowy woods, did yoga, learned axe-throwing, took a history tour of the hotel, soaked in the hot tub, talked with the farmer, and enjoyed delicious, reasonably-priced food. We wish we had had more time to do the other activities. We loved our time there and hope to return.

Room Tip: We asked for a quiet room with a view of the mountains, and that is exactly what we got -- 3rd floo...

Sam Mason-waitress, was totally awesome. She was a very vibrant, friendly and outgoing servant. Highly recommend her for a promotion.
I also lived the Axe throwing experience. The director of this activity was also highly engaging with her guests.

My husband and our 2 kids(4 and 7) made a last minute stop here on the way up to Jay Peak. What an amazing place-we did not want to leave. We loved the tubing, skating, wine tasting, cider and cookies, pool, game room, movie theater. In fact, we ended up disappointed when we got to Jay Peak because it is the opposite of the Mountain View...not personnel, rude employees, huge, very busy and not family friendly. We loved Mountain View so much we are returning April Break.
