“An UNFORGETTABLE B & B!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2009

We booked 2 nights here while attending a wedding on Lake Sunapee .... and wished we could have stayed the week!
Rosemary greeted us at check-in. She was very warm and friendly and let us check-in early. Our room was beautiful! It was clean and quaint. We had a king size bed and a big tub with jet streams. The towels were super soft and there were fluffy robes in the closet. There were 2 bottles of water on the end table and a menu for next mornings breakfast. Let me mention that the breakfast was DELICIOUS! The first morning Hess served us some fresh fruit with yogurt, homemade banana bread, and stuffed French Toast, along with juice and coffee. Every afternoon snacks and beverages are available. Rosemary's delicious homemade chocolate chip cookies were set out, along with sodas, tea and cocoa. This was enjoyable after our Mt. Sunapee hike! I especially liked coming back to the room and finding dark chocolates on my pillow in the evening! If you're looking for a REAL Bed and Breakfast with hospitality, this is the real deal! We'll definitely be making a return trip!

We had the most wonderful 2 nights stay of our holiday at twinn doors b & b. The rooms were immaculate and had everthing you would need. The breakfasts were delicious and al homemade. Sunapee harbour is just 4 mins walk away and is well worth a visit. Rosemary and Hess could not do enough for us and made us feel very welcome in their beautiful home. This is a must stay place if you are ever in the area.

All you could hope for in a B & B. Lovely century old house, clean. beautifully decorated rooms, great location and extremely gracious host and hostess. They even post the breakfast menu and are more than willing to make changes to accomodate you. Don't miss Rosemary's fresh from the oven chocolate chip cookies! It's only a short walk to Sunapee harbor, eliminating the usual problem of parking. If you want to spend some time in the Sunapee region, don't miss this lovely B & B.

The Twin doors is just a short walk to Sunapee Harbor so it was easily the most convenient of the other places we considered. The hosts were very gracious and made us feel comfortable from the start. The rooms had been recently renovated and were much more updated that most b&b's in the Northeast. They also served a wonderful breakfast and were helpful in every way possible.

We very much enjoyed our stay and would return.

This is a lovingly maintained home offering visitors a choice of four immaculately clean rooms. You get the impression that inn keeper Rosemary, along with her husband, Hess, had kept notes over the years of what they liked and didn't like about various bed and breakfasts and created their ideal at Twin Doors. There is so much attention to detail here, from the lovely furnishings and rugs, to the incredible high-quality linens to the unbelievably lavish breakfasts to the wonderful afternoon cakes and cookies. You can even choose from a collection of movies to play in your room, which I'd imagine might come in handy on a snowy evening. If anything, I felt our hosts went overboard with the multi-course breakfast -- everything was delicious but they could easily have gotten away with less. But they genuinely seem to want to provide an exceptional experience. As an aside, if you're looking for a lot of Victorian gingerbread or grand grounds in the middle of nowhere, this is not your place. It's simply a beautifully refurbished farmhouse in a residential neighborhood.

  • Liked — Nicely furnished, high-quality linens, incredible breakfast
  • Disliked — There was minor traffic noise in the morning with our windows open

The only complaint we had was we couldn't stay another day. Rosemary and Hess are wonderfully accomdating without you feeling like you've put them out in some way. We had a wedding in Sunapee and we arrived at the Inn late. Rosemary ran up a much needed iron and board and finished checking us in so when we left the Inn 20 minutes later we were all set. The next morning we were treated to an amazing (amazing!) breakfast. The Inn is small and quiet. Just a lovely experience!

  • Disliked — The view from the beautiful porch isn't the greatest

The Twin Doors B&B is a wonderful place to relax and unwind. The rooms are all exceptional. Each is tastefully decorated with a comfortable bed, an ample amount of pillows, TV & DVD, clean bathrooms, clean towels, & comfy bath robes. Each morning a delicious & filling homecooked breakfast is served. The host & hostess definately go out of their way to make sure you are comfortable, relaxed, and happy. If you are visiting the Sunapee are be sure to stay at the Twin Doors.
