OK, so this is one of those places where going there is an event - one of those things you "have to do" if you are in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. It is practically in the middle of nowhere but has been there for so long that everyone - both locals and vacationers - knows where it is. Going there is part of the vacation experience. And of course, they have a store, with plenty of "Polly's Pancake Parlor" paraphernalia.
Like many such "must do" experiences though, there is often some degree of disappointment. Besides, just how good can a pancake be? I found the food itself to be average and the prices a little high for basic breakfast food, even taking into account the real maple syrup.
Do go there (once) for the fun of it and so you can say that you've been there. Take home some Polly's Pancake Parlor Pancake Mix so that you can reminisce in the comfort of your own kitchen.
