We arrived early and had to stand by the door and stare into the bar before someone came to seat us. We both used the restrooms to wash our hands and were pleasantly surprised by how modern and clean they were. Waitress arrived. Very friendly, very nice. She did a good job the whole time. Red Sangria was very tasty and refreshing. We ordered appetizers of the Antipasto and the Italian style salad. They were served and we were blown away by the quality of the food. Absolutely delicious appetizers. We thought we were in for a real treat. Then the mains came. My wife had the veal saltinbocca and I had the stuffed calamari. In both cases the sauces were excellent. However, the calamari was rubbery and over cooked. In both mains, while I am sure the past was home made, it had an odd texture and we both felt it probably hadn't been "home made" very recently. Our impression was that the food wasn't fresh.
On top of that the staff was loudly conversing in and around the dining room. Counting their money, trying to borrow money, needed cigarettes, etc. One of the staff went out and stood by the entrance having a cigarette. Hostess was texting when we left. Based on the appetizers and the quality of the sauces on the mains I think they could have a great thing here if someone was managing the business. It felt like no one was in charge and the people there didn't care much. Again, our waitress was fine. I thought the pricing was fair for what they were intending to serve. The problem was poor execution. I won't go back until I hear that it has changed.
